Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matti Lautakasa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Elton John! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! John displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lautakasa. Lautakasa looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! John fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lautakasa, pushing him back against the cage. John lands an uppercut. Lautakasa changes levels and goes for a takedown here. John fights it off and pushes away nicely.
John closes the distance and clinches. John gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. John trying to stand up but can't free himself from Lautakasa's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. John is pushing down on Lautakasa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lautakasa is fighting to maintain full guard but John has managed to sneak the leg through. John performing his best blanket impression for a moment. John's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. John wants to stand up but Lautakasa is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. John stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. John swinging wilding here.
John fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lautakasa, pushing him back against the cage. John is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Lautakasa is defending well for now. John lands an elbow inside that Lautakasa shrugs off.
It looks like Matti Lautakasa has been cut. John escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
John shoots in and bounces Lautakasa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. John not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. John advances position into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lautakasa is trying to control John's posture but John avoids it. You can see the frustration on Lautakasa's face as John controls the position. John decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lautakasa to his feet. John has Lautakasa up against the cage in a clinch.
John lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lautakasa or not.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A short left from John. A short uppercut from John. John throws an elbow that misses.
John tightens his grip and picks Lautakasa up, before dumping him to the ground. Lautakasa manages to land in guard. John looking to pass the guard. John sitting in guard, not really doing much. Lautakasa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. John doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. John manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. John must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. John controlling from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John connects with a couple of short punches. Lautakasa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. John gets to his feet. Lautakasa looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! John clinches with his opponent.
Nice body punch from John - that landed with a thud.
John manages to break the clinch.
John closes the distance and pushes Lautakasa back into the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. John lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. John prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matti Lautakasa. That's going to take a lot out of him. John's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elton John dominated that round. The cut man is working on Matti Lautakasa's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

John prevents a takedown attempt there.
John scores with a shoulder strike. John lands a right hand that snaps the head of Lautakasa backwards. John has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lautakasa clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Lautakasa is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by John.
John has the hooks in. Lautakasa is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Lautakasa preventing the rear naked choke attempt from John. John somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Oooh a big shot gets through from John. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
That's one minute gone in the round. Lautakasa tries to escape but John has the hooks in and won't let him break free. John controlling from the back. John landing with strikes. John lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

John is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

That's two minutes gone in the round. John working for a choke but Lautakasa is defending well. Lautakasa trying to control the action but John just sinks the hooks in. I really don't envy Lautakasa right now.
What can Lautakasa do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lautakasa trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. John has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Lautakasa's body.
John looking to break Lautakasa's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Lautakasa remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise John will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Lautakasa turns into John and is now in his guard.
Lautakasa wants to control from the top but John keeps moving. John wants to stand and escape but Lautakasa is having none of it. John looking for a sweep. Not yet John, not yet. Lautakasa passes easily into side control. Nice work. Lautakasa wants to control but John is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. John is looking for a sweep. John manages to get back to half guard. Lautakasa is trying to control. John wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. John regains full guard. Nicely done. John wants to sweep here but Lautakasa controlling him for the moment. John manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Elton John showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Matti Lautakasa's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. John gets through Lautakasa's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. A bit of stalling here from John.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. John softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. John lands a nice uppercut.

John is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Lautakasa can't fight it off and eventually John manages to take the fight to the floor. Lautakasa looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. John is pushing down on Lautakasa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lautakasa is fighting to maintain full guard but John has managed to sneak the leg through. John postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lautakasa to stand up. John has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Lautakasa shoots for a double leg takedown but John sprawls well. He's pushed Lautakasa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. John will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! John lands a shoulder strike. Elton John seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Lautakasa is working for takedown but John is calmly controlling the position for now. John stops a takedown attempt from Lautakasa.

That could spell trouble for Lautakasa! Lautakasa tries to hold on but John postures up. John tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Lautakasa is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. John is going olschool here, as he tries to force Lautakasa to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lautakasa shrugs it off. John with good strikes from the mount here! Lautakasa defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from John. John has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lautakasa's face.
John is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lautakasa on the wrong end of a nice hook. John moves into the clinch. Matti Lautakasa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! John jumps guard and drags Lautakasa to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. John wants to sweep here but Lautakasa controlling him for the moment. Elton John is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lautakasa being controlled here momentarily. Lautakasa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. John manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lautakasa manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. John is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that's the end of the fight! Elton John comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well John has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
