The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

whitehead instigates a clinch.

whitehead breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jean Pelham seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

whitehead's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pelham.
Pelham shoots in and drives through. whitehead sprawls well.
Pelham fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but whitehead avoids it really well and circles away.
craig whitehead has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jean Pelham.
Pelham looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Pelham fails to land the takedown.
Pelham throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around whitehead's waist but whitehead gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pelham off to one side.
Pelham doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Pelham looks gassed!

whitehead shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pelham manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

whitehead stands up from Pelham's guard - whitehead perhaps looking for a knockout.
whitehead explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
whitehead throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Pelham.

It looks like Jean Pelham has been cut.

whitehead drops Pelham with a beautiful combination! Pelham stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - whitehead is looking for the KO!
