Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Thiago Silvera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Liddle! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silvera lands a nice shot to the body.
Liddle scores a takedown into full mount! Liddle is standing up, even though he is in mount. Silvera takes one to the chin there. Silvera tries for a takedown but Liddle circles away easily and Liddle counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Silvera throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Silvera is trying to maintain a safe position but Liddle gets an underhook and turns Silvera into the cage. Liddle wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Silvera wants a takedown but no success here.
Silvera breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Liddle looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Liddle looking to sit in guard and control but Silvera gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silvera wants to control from the top but Liddle keeps moving. Liddle is trying to keep Silvera in close.
Liddle is looking for a triangle but Silvera pushes his legs off easily.
Liddle had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Silvera is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Liddle Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Silvera's back instead. Silvera is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Liddle is trying to stick to Silvera's back but Silvera is turning into Liddle. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Liddle's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Silvera.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Silvera stays in close to Liddle's body and controls the position. Silvera avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Silvera wants to control from the top but Liddle keeps moving. Silvera forces his way into half guard. Liddle wants to get back to full guard but Silvera has passed into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddle is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Silvera looking to control but Liddle is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Silvera fails to take his opponent's back. Liddle is in all sorts of trouble here.
Liddle tries to hold on but Silvera pushes him away. Silvera trying to control but Liddle is having none of it. Liddle wants to control but Silvera is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Liddle is looking to get to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silvera trying to control but Liddle is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Liddle has given up his back here.
Silvera tries to keep control of the position but Liddle is staying busy. Liddle rolls, trying to escape but Silvera keeps control of the position.
Silvera has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Silvera is breathing heavily. Silvera is trying to stick to Liddle's back but Liddle is turning into Silvera. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Silvera's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Liddle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Chris Liddle will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Liddle scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Silvera wants to control but Liddle postures up. Liddle tries to advance to mount but Silvera denies him. Liddle wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silvera, who protects the arm well. You can see the frustration on Silvera's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Liddle advances to mount. Liddle working away from the top, dropping strikes. Silvera regains half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silvera is looking to control Liddle's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silvera avoid being mounted? Liddle looks to land a strike but Silvera avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Liddle trying to control the position from guard on top but Silvera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Liddle throwing strikes from guard but Silvera blocks nicely. Silvera looking to control.
Silvera keeping moving, preventing Liddle from controlling successfully. Liddle is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Silvera is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Silvera has escaped and now he's on top! Liddle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silvera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Silvera is looking to stand up but Liddle won't let him. Liddle working for a triangle but Silvera defends it easily.
Liddle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silvera can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Silvera throws a big right hand that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silvera gets to his feet. Liddle looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Liddle scores a takedown into full mount! Silvera is squirming around, avoiding Liddle's attempts to control the action. Silvera is working to get back to half guard.
Liddle throws a wild left hand from mount and Silvera manages to wriggle his way back to half guard. Liddle tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Liddle is working for a kimura but Silvera is defending it quite comfortably.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Liddle missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Liddle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silvera keeps working. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Liddle shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Liddle is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silvera defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Liddle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Liddle trying to control the position but Silvera manages to sink in the hooks. Silvera really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Liddle. Silvera is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Liddle defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Liddle rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Chris Liddle is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Silvera tries to improve position but can't.
