Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Melvin Vanhelvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rolles Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Vanhelvin. Silva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Vanhelvin to the mat! Vanhelvin manages to get full guard. Vanhelvin looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Silva puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Vanhelvin pushes Silva off looking to stand but Silva dives back in and keeps control.
Vanhelvin tries to get to full guard but Silva has control of the leg. Silva is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Vanhelvin throws a nice inside leg kick. Silva gets a clinch. Vanhelvin slowing the pace effectively. Vanhelvin manages to break the clinch.
Silva shoots and misses and Vanhelvin counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Vanhelvin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Silva doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vanhelvin. Vanhelvin is breathing heavily. Vanhelvin wants to stand but Silva has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva works his way to full guard. Good work. Silva working for a triangle but Vanhelvin defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva is pulling down on Vanhelvin's head to control his posture. Silva's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Let's hope that Silva has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Silva lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Vanhelvin! Silva controlling from mount. Vanhelvin trying desperately to get to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Silva controlling the position easily from mount. Vanhelvin can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Rolles Silva will probably get the nod. That's time! Vanhelvin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Vanhelvin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Vanhelvin counters with a nice double leg into guard. Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Silva is trying to control the position but Vanhelvin postures up. Vanhelvin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Silva is working an open guard so Vanhelvin takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Vanhelvin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Silva counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vanhelvin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Still in half guard, Silva seems content to control. Silva is pressing down on Vanhelvin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vanhelvin is holding on for now. Rolles Silva has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Vanhelvin is doing well to control the position and prevent Silva from advancing to side control. Vanhelvin manages to get to full guard.
Vanhelvin is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vanhelvin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Vanhelvin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Vanhelvin can't keep his opponent in guard - Silva advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Vanhelvin manages to escape and get back to his feet!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Silva gets a takedown into half guard. Vanhelvin wants to get back to his feet.

A close second round but Rolles Silva will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Silva darts in trying to clinch and Vanhelvin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Vanhelvin wants to break the clinch but can't.

Silva is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Vanhelvin can't fight it off and eventually Silva manages to take the fight to the floor. Vanhelvin looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Vanhelvin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Silva looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Silva postures up.

Silva has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Vanhelvin is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Silva. Silva can't do much from the bottom here. Vanhelvin has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Vanhelvin closes the distance and pushes Silva back into the cage. Rolles Silva is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Vanhelvin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Silva gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Vanhelvin is trying to force a seperation but Silva has the dominant position. Silva has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Vanhelvin uses from the top position. Melvin Vanhelvin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Vanhelvin drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Vanhelvin off! Vanhelvin jumps back into Silva's guard. Silva preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Melvin Vanhelvin showed his dominance in that final round. I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
