Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Jighston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown's entrance music is My Territory. A fine choice. Nick Jighston has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dan Brown's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Jighston! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Brown looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Dan Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jighston shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jighston showed some decent athleticism there. Brown looks like he's trying to stand up.
Brown misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Brown is trying to get back to full guard. Jighston missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Brown knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jighston on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jighston is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brown defends it well. Jighston is thwarting Brown's attempts to control the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jighston looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Brown tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jighston avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brown gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jighston to score an easy takedown into full guard. Brown wants to stand up but Jighston is controlling him. Brown is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jighston throwing strikes from guard but Brown blocks nicely. Jighston thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Brown looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jighston is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jighston wants to pass the guard but Brown is keeping the position. Jighston landing some decent shots from guard. Brown wants to sweep here but Jighston controlling him for the moment.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jighston feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Jighston tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard. Brown is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Brown tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jighston drops back looking for a leg! Brown is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brown manages to kick Jighston off! Jighston jumps back into Brown's guard. Jighston stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brown swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jighston drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jighston jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Jighston looks gassed! Brown looking to control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Brown shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brown showed some decent athleticism there. Brown tries to stand but can't do so whilst Jighston controls his leg. Jighston regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown trying to control the position from guard on top but Jighston is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jighston working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brown doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Jighston is tightening it up a little... Brown has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Brown reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Brown taps out! nice BJJ there by Jighston!
