Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kim Chee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yuki Skyscraper! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chee misses with a body kick. Skyscraper looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chee is fending him off so far but Skyscraper persists. Nope, Chee circles away and we're back to standing. Skyscraper looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Skyscraper is looking to advance position but Chee won't allow it. Skyscraper is looking for a kimura but Chee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Skyscraper to get the leverage. Chee is controlling Skyscraper's position as best he can from this difficult position. Skyscraper wants to take a breather but Chee is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chee trying to control from the bottom.
Chee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Chee is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Skyscraper trying to control from half guard but Chee is working away. It looks like Skyscraper is going to stand back up.
Chee manages to get to full guard.
Skyscraper looking to sit in guard and control but Chee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Chee throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Skyscraper trying to strike off his back.
Skyscraper avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Skyscraper looking for a guillotine here but Chee defends easily.
Skyscraper is working an open guard so Chee takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Chee with a lazy takedown attempt and Skyscraper counters with a single leg into guard. Chee didn't expect that. Chee manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Skyscraper looks gassed! A nice elbow there by Chee.
It looks like Yuki Skyscraper has been cut. Skyscraper is desperately trying to improve his position but Chee has a good base and remains in mount. Chee lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That has opened up Yuki Skyscraper's cut even more. Skyscraper is trying desperately to improve position. Chee lands a big shot there that rocks Skyscraper but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Yuki Skyscraper's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Yuki Skyscraper's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
