Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raimo Tikkari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorma Kaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaki has chosen MacGyver Theme as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raimo Tikkari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jorma Kaki!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tikkari is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

It looks like Jorma Kaki has been cut.
Kaki tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tikkari smiles and moves away.

Tikkari fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kaki, pushing him back against the cage.
Kaki dodges an elbow strike from Tikkari.
Tikkari throws an elbow but it misses.
Tikkari wants to break the clinch but can't.

Tikkari softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Kaki tries to circle away but Tikkari has him pinned against the cage.

Tikkari fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kaki doesn't manage to clinch there - Tikkari circles away.

Tikkari drives through and clinches with Kaki against the cage.

Kaki is trying to trip Tikkari. He has hold of a leg but Tikkari is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kaki persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Tikkari knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kaki on the ground.
Tikkari wants to get back to his feet but Kaki is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kaki slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kaki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tikkari swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tikkari is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Tikkari tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kaki paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kaki throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Raimo Tikkari has been cut.

Tikkari is trying to stand.

Kaki frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Tikkari's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Kaki content just to control the position here.
Tikkari is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Kaki takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
I looks like Kaki might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Tikkari is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Kaki can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tikkari is looking to escape.

Kaki misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Tikkari tries to buck Kaki off but he can't manage it.
Kaki can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tikkari is looking to escape.
Tikkari is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Tikkari is bucking up trying to escape but Kaki cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kaki trying to control but Tikkari is having none of it.

Tikkari is in a horrible position here. Kaki smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Kaki scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Kaki perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaki throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Kaki is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tikkari sees it coming and defends easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Tikkari has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kaki is trying to break the clinch but Tikkari is controlling him.

Tikkari pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kaki fails in his attempt to clinch.
Raimo Tikkari is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kaki lands a two punch combo.
Kaki shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tikkari defends it nicely.
Tikkari throws a head kick that misses.

Kaki clinches up with Tikkari and pushes him back against the cage.
Tikkari lands an elbow that stopped Kaki in his tracks for a moment.
Kaki has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tikkari is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kaki shoots for a takedown but Tikkari saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kaki tries to pull guard but Tikkari won't allow it.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Tikkari.
Kaki presses Tikkari against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Kaki avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kaki shoots for a double leg takedown but Tikkari sprawls well. He's pushed Kaki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kaki stands and throws Tikkari's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Tikkari pushes Kaki away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kaki gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Tikkari on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tikkari tries to get out of the position.

Kaki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Tikkari wants to get back to his feet but Kaki drags him back down.

Tikkari is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Kaki has just dragged him back down to the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jorma Kaki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Tikkari instigates a clinch.

Kaki turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kaki manages to end up in side control.

Tikkari is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kaki asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Kaki has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Tikkari is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kaki is defending well for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
