Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Denis Freire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre F Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Denis Freire looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freire gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Freire displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from F Costa.

F Costa throws a nice looking combination but Freire bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Andre F Costa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Freire counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Let's hope that F Costa has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
F Costa pushes Freire off and scrambles back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Freire lands with a thumping leg kick.
Freire avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Freire slaps away a takedown attempt from F Costa, before circling back to the center of the mat.
F Costa keeps the fight on the outside.
F Costa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Freire tries to avoid it but F Costa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Freire to the ground. Freire escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Freire rushes F Costa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
F Costa jumps into guard, dragging Freire to the mat.
Freire trying to control but F Costa is working from the bottom.
F Costa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Freire wanted to stand there but F Costa had control of the position.
Freire wants to control from the top but F Costa keeps moving.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Freire has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
F Costa seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Freire stands up and waves to F Costa to follow him.
