Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fredward Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Frank Frost enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fredward Benson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Frost!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Benson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Frost's face as Benson controls the position.

Benson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Benson tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Frost is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Frost is trying to escape the position but Benson is controlling the position.
Frost wants to control but Benson postures up.
Benson tries to advance to mount but can't.
Frost tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Benson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Frost tries for a takedown but Benson circles away easily

and Benson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Benson stays in close to Frost's body and controls the position.
Benson tries to free his leg and advance position but Frost is retaining full guard.
Benson postures up.
Benson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Frost escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Benson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Frost manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Benson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Frost raining down shots from the mount!

Frost is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Benson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Benson!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Benson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Frost, who protects the arm well.

Frost throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Frost gets caught flat footed, as Benson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Benson uses his free foot to push down on Frost's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Frost.

Benson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Frost for as long as he can get away with.

Benson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
You get the feeling that Frost really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Benson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Frost is in all sorts of trouble here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fredward Benson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Benson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Frost tries to close the distance and clinch but Benson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Frost has his takedown stuffed

so Benson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Benson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Benson passes Frost's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Benson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Benson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Benson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Frost is looking for a sweep.
Benson just content to control the position.

Frost throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Benson was covering up waiting for the punch and Frost finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Benson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Frost manages to get himself to full guard.
