Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between BG Ru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Oxbig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ru throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Oxbig sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Oxbig slaps away a takedown attempt from Ru, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Oxbig circles away from the clinch attempt.
Oxbig misses with a body kick.
Ru fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oxbig is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ru sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Oxbig shoots in looking for a takedown. Ru tries to sprawl out of it but Oxbig keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ru manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ru escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Oxbig gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oxbig loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

BG Ru has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Oxbig.
Ru tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Oxbig paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ru is looking to take a break and control but Oxbig is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Oxbig tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ru wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Oxbig really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ru. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Oxbig wants to hit a switch here but Ru passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Oxbig there!

Oxbig throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oxbig shoots in and drives through. Ru sprawls well.
Ru misses the shot to the body.
Oxbig closes the distance and clinches up with Ru, looking for a takedown. Oxbig pushes Ru against the cage but Ru circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Oxbig counters with a body kick that stops Ru in his tracks momentarily.
Oxbig lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ru backs up against the cage.
Ru tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Oxbig swivels and escapes.
Oxbig shoots for a takedown but Ru saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
BG Ru has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Oxbig.

Oxbig misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Oxbig fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oxbig will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Oxbig uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ru.
Oxbig changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ru tries to avoid it but Oxbig manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ru to the ground. Ru escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ru displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Oxbig.

Oxbig is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Oxbig fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ru avoids it really well and circles away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ru throws a head kick that misses.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Oxbig.
Oxbig is looking to clinch but Ru is avoiding it.
Oxbig tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ru throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Ru counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Oxbig is trying to maintain a safe position but Ru gets an underhook and turns Oxbig into the cage.

Oxbig shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ru as he jumps to the side.

Ru throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Oxbig was covering up waiting for the punch and Ru finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Oxbig is pulling down on Ru's head to control his posture.
Ru has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Oxbig is proving hard to escape from.
Oxbig has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ru can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Oxbig looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Oxbig has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Ru wants to control from the top but Oxbig keeps moving.
Oxbig pulls Ru in close to his closed guard and prevents Ru from doing any damage or advancing position.
Oxbig wants to stand and escape but Ru is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Oxbig is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ru fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Oxbig manages to avoid it.
Oxbig keeps the fight on the outside.
Oxbig tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ru swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Ru throws a head kick but Oxbig moves out of range.
Ru leaves Oxbig with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Oxbig throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ru's waist but Ru gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Oxbig off to one side.

Oxbig stalks Ru and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ru's face. Ru staggers backwards, shaken.
Oxbig scores with a hook to the body. Ru takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ru misses with a head kick.
Oxbig pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ru leaves Oxbig with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Oxbig counters with a series of strikes. Ru will be more careful next time no doubt.

I would just about give that final round to Mike Oxbig.
