Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Carbone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Ickey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ickey has chosen BONKERS as his entrance music. Phil Ickey looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Pedro Carbone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Phil Ickey! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ickey tries to clinch there but Carbone circles away.
Ickey wants to clinch up but Carbone keeps it at a distance. Phil Ickey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ickey tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Carbone goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Phil Ickey has been cut. Carbone throws a head kick but Ickey moves out of range.
Carbone throws a sloppy head kick and Ickey moves out of range easily. Carbone throws a front kick that sends Ickey stumbling back into the cage. Carbone lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Ickey sprawling to the canvas. Carbone follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Ickey hang on?
Ickey is rocked! Ickey looks gassed! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ickey is trying to stand.
Ickey is still in real trouble! Can Carbone finish him? Carbone perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Ickey seems to have recovered his senses. Carbone stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Ickey to get to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carbone looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Carbone lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Ickey tries to clinch up but Carbone circles away and keeps his distance. Carbone swats away the attempt to clinch by Ickey. Ickey stuffs the takedown attempt from Carbone. Carbone gets slowly back to his feet. Carbone throws a right hand that Ickey ducks under and follows up with a left that Ickey also avoids with ease. Ickey moves into range and clinches up with Carbone. Ickey breaks from the clinch.
Ickey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Carbone closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ickey bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Ickey slips a jab and a cross from Carbone.

Ickey moves in looking to clinch but Carbone pushes him off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ickey is looking to clinch but Carbone is avoiding it.
Carbone is looking to clinch. Carbone throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ickey. Carbone lands a head kick!
Ickey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Some wild striking there from Carbone.
Carbone lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ickey backs up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A head kick from Carbone lands but Ickey takes it in his stride.
That has opened up Phil Ickey's cut even more. Carbone shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ickey but Ickey pushes him off and we're back to square one. Carbone misses with a double jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ickey looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ickey is looking to clinch. Ickey tries to land a front kick but Carbone steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Carbone misses with a few strikes there.
Nice sprawl there from Ickey as Carbone shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedro Carbone. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ickey tries to clinch but Carbone moves away and Carbone counters with a three punch combo that has Ickey backing up. Ickey nods at Carbone to acknowledge the strikes. A combination from Carbone does no damage. Carbone tries to bum rush Ickey with a series of wild strikes but Ickey uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ickey lands with a kick to the ribs.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Ickey wants to break free but Carbone has control.
Ickey doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Carbone goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ickey prevents it.

Ickey pulls guard. Carbone won't allow Ickey to sweep him here. Ickey wants to control the position but Carbone says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Ickey wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ickey is trying to control but can't.
Ickey holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Ickey pushes Carbone off and gets back to his feet. Ickey moves into the clinch. Ickey wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ickey tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Ickey keeps control of Carbone as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Ickey drops down looking for an ankle pick but Carbone pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ickey scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carbone is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Ickey stands up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pedro Carbone dominated that round. The cut man is working on Phil Ickey's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Carbone will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ickey is looking to clinch but Carbone is avoiding it.

Ickey looks to land a combination. Carbone sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Ickey shoots in but Carbone avoids the takedown attempt easily. A head kick from Carbone lands but Ickey takes it in his stride. Carbone scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Ickey has a takedown stuffed. Carbone clinches with his opponent.

Ickey clinches but Carbone breaks the clinch and Carbone counters with a one-two to the body. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Carbone throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
so Ickey counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Ickey sitting in guard, not really doing much. Ickey would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ickey decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Ickey fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ickey tries to clinch but fails miserably and Carbone counters with a head kick. That will keep Ickey thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Carbone misses the body punch and Ickey moves into the clinch. Ickey stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Carbone keeps control of Ickey as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ickey is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Carbone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Carbone keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pedro Carbone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Ickey. Carbone throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Carbone really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ickey looks to clinch and Carbone counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Carbone tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Ickey wants to improve his position but Carbone is controlling well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ickey is looking to improve his position.
Carbone with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Carbone scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Carbone scoring well with a low kick there.
Carbone circles away from the clinch attempt and Carbone counters by moving into the clinch. Ickey tries to pull guard but Carbone won't allow it.

Ickey takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Ickey tries to clinch so Carbone counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Ickey thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Ickey looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carbone is one step ahead there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ickey working a defensive guard here.

Pedro Carbone dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Phil Ickey's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Ickey shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carbone but Carbone pushes him off and we're back to square one. Carbone swinging wilding here.

Ickey wants to clinch and Carbone counters with a flying knee. Nice. Ickey closes the distance but Carbone moves to the side and Carbone counters with a three punch combo that has Ickey backing up. Ickey nods at Carbone to acknowledge the strikes. Ickey moves into the clinch successfully.

Ickey tries to pull guard but Carbone holds him up against the cage and eventually Ickey drops back down to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ickey misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Carbone.
Carbone manages to break the clinch.
Ickey shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ickey was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Ickey is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Carbone has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Carbone!
That's one minute gone in the round. Ickey bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carbone's guard. Carbone on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carbone tries to get out of the position. Ickey wants to stand and escape but instead Carbone has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Carbone is fighting to break Ickey's control of his arms but Ickey is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Carbone stopping the sweep attempt from Ickey.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ickey being controlled here, momentarily. Carbone has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Ickey working a defensive guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carbone not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Carbone throws and elbow that misses. Ickey uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Carbone's guard. Nice move by Ickey! Ickey wants to stand and escape but instead Carbone has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Ickey tries to strike from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ickey is trying to control the position but Carbone postures up. Ickey throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Ickey manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carbone manages to get himself to full guard.
Carbone avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Carbone keeping moving, preventing Ickey from controlling successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pedro Carbone. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carbone, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
