Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Groove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Freeze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeze is looking to clinch but Groove is avoiding it.
Groove drives through and clinches with Freeze against the cage.
Groove escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Freeze looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Groove is fending him off so far but Freeze persists. Nope, Groove circles away and we're back to standing.
Freeze tries for a takedown but Groove sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Groove misses with a takedown
so Freeze counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Groove has his feet on Freeze's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Groove moves in looking to clinch but Freeze pushes him off.

Groove doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Freeze counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Groove stands up over Freeze, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Freeze really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Groove. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Freeze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Groove swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Groove is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Groove is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Groove has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Freeze can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Freeze in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
