Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between VITOR BEMFORT (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenshin Asano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenshin Asano!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for BEMFORT with that takedown attempt.
Asano shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Asano wants to pass the guard but BEMFORT is keeping the position.
Asano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with BEMFORT. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
BEMFORT has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Asano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Asano must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
BEMFORT has his foot on Asano's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Asano works his way back into a safe position though.
Asano chips away with some ground and pound.

Asano drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but BEMFORT manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Asano has BEMFORT in his guard.
Asano wants to sweep here but BEMFORT controlling him for the moment.

BEMFORT thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
BEMFORT is breathing heavily.
BEMFORT is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Asano trying to keep a closed guard but BEMFORT is proving a slippery customer.

Asano throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Asano wants to sweep here but BEMFORT controlling him for the moment.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Asano counters with a takedown into side control.

Asano stands up and we're back to a striking position.

so Asano counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

BEMFORT quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Asano has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! BEMFORT celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
