Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Laidlaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ankka Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dylan Laidlaw looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dylan Laidlaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ankka Silva! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Laidlaw. No joy for Silva on that attempt. Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Laidlaw pinned against the cage. Laidlaw gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Laidlaw tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Laidlaw looks to move to half guard but instead Silva has passed into mount! Damn! Laidlaw tries to lock up and control but Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Laidlaw keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Silva controlling the pace for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva wants to control the pace but Laidlaw is squirming around nicely. Laidlaw wants to control but Silva is having none of it. Laidlaw is trying desperately to improve position. Silva trying to control but Laidlaw is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva looking to control but Laidlaw is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Silva avoids the attempt from Laidlaw to control. Laidlaw is working to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva avoids the attempt from Laidlaw to control. Silva wants to control the pace but Laidlaw is squirming around nicely. Laidlaw wants to control but Silva is having none of it. Silva postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Laidlaw looks a forlorn figure.
Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Laidlaw is desperately trying to improve his position but Silva has a good base and remains in mount. Laidlaw is breathing heavily. Laidlaw wants to control but Silva is having none of it. Laidlaw tries to reverse the position but Silva maintains control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Silva tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ankka Silva dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Silva has managed to clinch.
Laidlaw could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Silva looking for a takedown. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Laidlaw as Silva tries to tie him up. Silva fails to pull guard.
Silva throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Silva jumps guard but Laidlaw stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Dylan Laidlaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ankka Silva. Silva misses with a hook to the ribs.
Silva swings wildly with an uppercut but Laidlaw uses good head movement to avoid it. Silva manages to break the clinch.
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Laidlaw sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat. Dylan Laidlaw is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Silva is breathing heavily. Laidlaw is looking to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Laidlaw tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch. Laidlaw works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Laidlaw manages to break the clinch.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Laidlaw sprawls well. Laidlaw wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet. Silva takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Dylan Laidlaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Laidlaw rushes Silva and presses him up against the cage. Laidlaw pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Laidlaw circles away.
Laidlaw shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Laidlaw shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Silva manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Laidlaw postures up.
Laidlaw prevents Silva from getting back to his feet. Laidlaw tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard. Silva wants to sweep here but Laidlaw controlling him for the moment. Silva keeping moving, preventing Laidlaw from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laidlaw drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Laidlaw jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Laidlaw wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. Laidlaw trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Excellent takedown into side control there by Silva. Laidlaw is trying to control Silva's posture but Silva avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Laidlaw is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Laidlaw tries to buck Silva off but Silva is having none of it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Silva lands a nice forearm strike. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Ankka Silva will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Laidlaw wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance. Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Laidlaw's guard. Laidlaw trying to control the position.
Laidlaw looking for subs off his back but Silva has passed one foot through into half guard.
Silva passes the guard and advances to mount! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva controlling from mount. Laidlaw is looking to get to half guard. Silva avoids the attempt from Laidlaw to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Laidlaw tries to get back to half guard but can't. Laidlaw is working hard here to advance position. A nice elbow there by Silva. Silva wants to control the pace but Laidlaw is squirming around nicely. Laidlaw tries to lock up and control but Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Laidlaw is looking to improve his position but Silva isn't that keen on the idea. Silva landing strikes from the mount and Laidlaw is in trouble!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva prevents Laidlaw from getting the reversal. Laidlaw takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva trying to control but Laidlaw is having none of it. A nice elbow there by Silva. Silva controlling from the full mount.

And that's the end of the fight! Ankka Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Silva winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
