The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Naza fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Burns avoids it really well and circles away.
Naza shoots for a double leg takedown but Burns sprawls well. He's pushed Naza's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Naza.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gio Naza. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Burns swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Naza shoots for a takedown but Burns saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Naza shoots in looking for a takedown. Burns tries to sprawl out of it but Naza keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Burns manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gio Naza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Naza throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Burns's waist but Burns gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Naza off to one side.

Naza closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Naza feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

I think Burns has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
