Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dustin Steen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Krueger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krueger shoots in but Steen avoids the takedown attempt easily. Steen rushes Krueger and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Steen is trying to drag Krueger to the mat but Krueger just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Steen lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Steen just misses with a elbow thrown towards Krueger's brow. Steen fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dustin Steen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Steen avoiding damage as Krueger throws knees to the body.
Steen tries to break the clinch but Krueger is controlling the position. Steen is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Steen keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Krueger's efforts to push away. Steen misses with a short punch on the inside. Steen manages to break the clinch.

Steen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Krueger swats him away and circles back towards the center. Krueger lands a with a good body shot. Steen tries to clinch up. Freddy Krueger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Krueger swats away the attempt to clinch by Steen. Krueger checks a low kick from Steen. Steen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Krueger counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Dustin Steen has been cut. Steen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Krueger as he avoids it easily. Krueger bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Steen's head backwards. Krueger throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Steen's waist but Steen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Krueger off to one side. Krueger looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Steen!
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Steen is squirming around, avoiding Krueger's attempts to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A nice elbow there by Krueger. Steen defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Krueger. Krueger trying to control but Steen is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Steen throwing hammer fists to the chest of Krueger. What's that going to do exactly?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krueger blocks Steen's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Steen is trying to stand up. Steen takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Steen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Krueger can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Steen is looking to escape. Steen tries to lock up and control but Krueger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Krueger trying to control but Steen is having none of it. Steen gets back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Steen has his hands clasped together around Krueger's back. He's all about the action. Steen trying to hold on to Krueger's head to control him but Krueger postures up.
Steen makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Krueger tries for a takedown but Steen circles away easily and Steen counters by moving into the clinch. Steen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Krueger pulls his leg out and moves away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Steen tries to clinch up and Krueger counters with a nice double leg into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Freddy Krueger dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dustin Steen's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A head kick misses from Krueger. Steen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Krueger throws a sloppy head kick and Steen moves out of range easily. Steen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Krueger circles away. Krueger shoots for a double leg takedown but Steen sprawls well. He's pushed Krueger's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Krueger looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Krueger uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Steen.
Krueger tries to clinch up but Steen circles away and keeps his distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steen rushes Krueger and presses him up against the cage. Krueger tries to break the clinch but Steen is controlling the position. Krueger tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Steen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Krueger pulls his leg out and moves away.

Dustin Steen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Krueger. Krueger has Steen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Steen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Krueger has Steen pressed against the cage, preventing Steen from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Steen looking for a takedown. Krueger tries to circle away but Steen has him pinned against the cage. Steen wants a takedown but no success here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Krueger gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Krueger trying to control but Steen is working from the bottom. Krueger passes easily into side control. Nice work. Krueger swings around for an armbar but Steen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Krueger's guard.

Krueger keeping moving, preventing Steen from controlling successfully. Steen is in close to Krueger's body, working some short punches and elbows. Krueger throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Krueger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Steen postures up in Krueger's guard and throws a big left but Krueger blocks it. Steen trying to control the position from guard on top but Krueger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Krueger is trying to control the position but Steen postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Krueger gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Steen counters by clinching up. Steen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Krueger is trying to force a seperation but Steen has the dominant position. Steen lands a takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Krueger thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Steen sitting in guard, not really doing much. Steen landing some decent shots from guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Krueger can do anything to dispel that myth. Krueger throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Steen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Steen has a takedown stuffed. Krueger moves into the clinch. Krueger blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Steen is working for takedown but Krueger is calmly controlling the position for now. Steen lands a takedown into guard.
Krueger not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Krueger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steen stands up over Krueger, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Steen distracts Krueger with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Krueger looking for a sweep. Not yet Krueger, not yet. Steen is working Krueger over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Krueger trying to keep a closed guard but Steen is proving a slippery customer.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Steen tries to clinch up but Krueger circles away and keeps his distance. Krueger looks to land a combination. Steen sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Krueger shoots and misses and Steen moves into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krueger jumps guard but Steen stands there with Krueger around his waist. Krueger gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Steen blocks an uppercut.
Steen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Steen as Krueger tries to tie him up. Krueger tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Steen smiles and moves away.
Krueger tries to score a power double leg takedown but Steen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Krueger somewhat. A slapping leg kick lands for Steen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Krueger looks to clinch and Steen holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Krueger wants to get back to striking at distance but Steen won't allow it.
Krueger jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Steen walks away with a smile on his face. Krueger gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Steen looks to clinch and Krueger counters with a three punch combo that has Steen backing up. Steen nods at Krueger to acknowledge the strikes. Steen waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Krueger. Steen forces Krueger back against the cage and clinches. Steen wants a takedown but no success here.
Krueger wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Steen fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Krueger escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Krueger with a poor takedown and Steen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Steen landing with the ground and pound. Krueger not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
