Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vicky Vegas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bas Weedly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Bas Weedly was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vicky Vegas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bas Weedly! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Weedly fails with an attempt to clinch.
Vegas takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Weedly staying out of range there. Nice sprawl there from Vegas as Weedly shoots in. Weedly moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Vegas avoids the head kick by Weedly.
Weedly tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Vegas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Vegas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Weedly circles away. Vegas takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Vegas wants to land a leg kick but Weedly is out of range. A punch combination from Weedly misses. No luck with that takedown attempt from Weedly. Weedly tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Weedly with a lazy takedown attempt and Vegas counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Vicky Vegas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bas Weedly. Weedly bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Vegas's head. Weedly throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Weedly throws a leg kick which misses Vegas's front leg but catches the back leg as Vegas tries to avoid it. Vegas is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weedly wants to clinch but Vegas slips to the side and Vegas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Vegas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Weedly is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Weedly controls Vegas momentarily but Vegas frees himself. Weedly wants to stand up but Vegas is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Weedly instigates a clinch. A short right from Vegas. Weedly is trying to break the clinch but Vegas is controlling him. Weedly breaks the clinch.
Nice shot by Vegas. Weedly misses with a few strikes there.
Vegas avoids the head kick by Weedly.
Vegas blocks the body kick.
Weedly dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Weedly throws the kick towards the body but Vegas avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vegas misses with an uppercut. Vegas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Weedly struggling a bit here. Vegas fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Weedly tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Vegas easily slips into full mount! Vegas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Weedly is squirming around, avoiding Vegas's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vegas throws some wild stikes that Weedly manages to avoid easily.
Vegas sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Vegas putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Weedly tries to lock up and control but Vegas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Weedly is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vegas lands a nice shot to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vegas working the ground and pound effectively.
Weedly is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Vicky Vegas will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Weedly wants to clinch but Vegas slips to the side and Vegas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Weedly won't be happy with that. Weedly gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Vegas missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Vegas working over Weedly with some ground and pound. Weedly looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Weedly tries to roll over but Vegas keeps him under control. Vegas is trying to control the action in half guard but Weedly is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Vegas is looking for a kimura but Weedly is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vegas to get the leverage. Vegas is pressing down on Weedly's thigh, looking to free his foot. Weedly is holding on for now. Vegas not landing any meaningful shots this time. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weedly tries to roll over but Vegas keeps him under control.

Weedly scores with a push kick. Weedly feints and then cracks Vegas's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Vegas down. Weedly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Weedly shoots in for a takedown but Vegas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Weedly scores with a head kick.
Weedly lands a jab to Vegas's midsection. Weedly throws a nice outside leg kick. Vegas takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Weedly uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Vegas takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Weedly plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vegas drops his hands momentarily and Weedly takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Weedly dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Vegas. That did some damage! Weedly closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Weedly seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vegas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Vegas won't allow Weedly to pass to mount. Weedly seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Weedly prevents Vegas from improving his position. Weedly really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vegas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vegas trying to hold on to Weedly's head to control him but Weedly postures up.
Weedly is trying to control. Vegas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A solid leg kick lands there for Weedly.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Vegas crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Weedly - the referee stops the clock and Vegas gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Weedly. Vegas manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Weedly scores with a three punch combo!
Weedly throws a nice inside leg kick. Weedly shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vegas but Vegas pushes him off and we're back to square one. Vegas takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Vegas takes one on the button. Nice straight punches there by Weedly. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Weedly. Vegas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Weedly swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weedly throws a nice head kick!
Weedly throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Vegas's head. Weedly scores with a one two! Vegas had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Vegas tries to bum rush Weedly with a series of wild strikes but Weedly uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Weedly's corner calls for a 1-2. Weedly obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Weedly connects with a nice looking jab.
A solid leg kick lands there for Weedly.
Weedly connects with a solid leg kick. Weedly has his takedown stuffed and Vegas makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Vicky Vegas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bas Weedly. Weedly thuds a left hand into Vegas's body. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Weedly throws a combination. Vegas tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Weedly moves in looking to clinch but Vegas pushes him off. Weedly with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Weedly keeps Vegas at a distance using the push kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bas Weedly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Vegas defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Weedly. Weedly scores with a sloppy right hand. Vegas should have avoided that one. Weedly is looking to clinch but Vegas is avoiding it.
Donk. Vegas catches Weedly right on the button with a cross. Weedly throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Weedly takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Vegas takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Bas Weedly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Weedly doesn't manage to clinch there - Vegas circles away.
An inside leg kick from Weedly misses. Vegas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Weedly swats him away and circles back towards the center. Weedly scores with a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weedly closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Vegas did well to prevent Weedly getting side control. Weedly prevents Vegas from improving his position. Vegas regains full guard. Nicely done. Weedly thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Vegas looking to control.
Vegas looking for a guillotine here but Weedly defends easily.
Vegas had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Weedly is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Vegas Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Weedly's back instead. Vegas scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. I really don't envy Weedly right now.
Weedly is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Vegas looking for the choke from the back. Weedly is trying to stand back up. Vegas missing with strikes from the back. Weedly can't escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vegas is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Weedly defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Weedly rolls, trying to escape but Vegas keeps control of the position.
Vegas looking for the RNC. Vegas thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Weedly looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Vegas patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Weedly is in bad spot here.
Vegas gets his hands free as Weedly looks to control. Vegas scores with punches from the back.
Vegas has the hooks in. Weedly is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Vegas doesn't have the hooks in and Weedly manages to turn into his guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vicky Vegas. I think Vegas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
