0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leko Pavicevic! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tristar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pavicevic tries to bench press Tristar off him but Tristar keeps the position. Pavicevic is trying to control Tristar's posture but Tristar avoids it. Pavicevic is looking for a sweep. Tristar in side control, throwing shots but Pavicevic defends. Pavicevic is trying to get back to half guard. Pavicevic is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Tristar's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Pavicevic wants to get back to full guard. Tristar is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pavicevic sees it coming and defends easily.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Tristar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Pavicevic can't do much from the bottom here. Tristar scoring with punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pavicevic is looking to regain half guard here but Tristar keeps moving and retains side control. Tristar wants to control but Pavicevic is keeping him busy. Tristar is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Pavicevic's shoulder. That is not cool. Pavicevic is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tristar off and has taken his back! Tristar rolls, trying to escape but Pavicevic keeps control of the position.
Pavicevic working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Tristar is in bad spot here.
Pavicevic is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Tristar knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Tristar for a finish. Pavicevic looks gassed! Pavicevic has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Tristar has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tristar trying to control but not successfully. Tristar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pavicevic on the ground. Pavicevic looking to break Tristar's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Tristar remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pavicevic will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tristar turns into Pavicevic and is now in his guard.
Tristar looking to pass the guard. Tristar controls from within his opponent's guard. Tristar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tristar is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pavicevic has his foot on Tristar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tristar works his way back into a safe position though. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pavicevic holds on and takes a little breather. Tristar landing some decent shots from guard. Pavicevic pushes a forearm under Tristar's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Tristar is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
