Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leonard STAM (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrey Nikolayev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andrey Nikolayev is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Leonard STAM! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrey Nikolayev! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Ivan Kurochkin and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nikolayev shoots in for a takedown and gets it. STAM wants to control but Nikolayev is keeping busy and won't allow it. Nikolayev frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Nikolayev trying to control but he's not successful this time. STAM is in a horrible position here. Nikolayev smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Nikolayev avoids the attempt from STAM to control. Nikolayev landing shots from mount. STAM is wriggling around trying to escape.
STAM tries to hold on but Nikolayev pushes him away. Nikolayev blocks STAM's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. STAM tries to hold on but Nikolayev postures up. Nikolayev prevents STAM from getting the reversal.
That's one minute gone in the round. STAM gets back to half guard. Nikolayev is looking to take a break and control but STAM is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. STAM is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
STAM gets back to half guard. STAM looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nikolayev looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks STAM with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. STAM has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nikolayev keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Nikolayev is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, STAM has managed to free his arm - good work. Nikolayev looks gassed! STAM looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. STAM is trying to maintain the position but Nikolayev is very close to passing his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nikolayev decides to stand and escape the position. STAM misses with a two punch combination.
STAM gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Nikolayev counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Nikolayev. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! STAM keeping moving, preventing Nikolayev from controlling successfully. STAM is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. STAM trying to keep a closed guard but Nikolayev is proving a slippery customer.
Nikolayev throws a strike but STAM rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. STAM trying to control the position from guard on top but Nikolayev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nikolayev wants to stand but STAM is controlling the position. Nikolayev keeping moving, preventing STAM from controlling successfully.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. STAM throws a head kick that Nikolayev semi-blocks.
It looks like Andrey Nikolayev has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. STAM fails with the takedown and Nikolayev counters with a takedown into side control. STAM manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Nikolayev working the head and body with strikes. STAM has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nikolayev is working away from the top position though. Nikolayev is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Nikolayev stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows STAM to get to his feet. A nice combination there by STAM.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Crunch! STAM slams his shin into Nikolayev's torso. STAM looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. STAM has his takedown stuffed and Nikolayev counters with a single leg into guard. STAM didn't expect that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrey Nikolayev dominated that round. The cut man is working on Andrey Nikolayev's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Nikolayev decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. STAM gets back to full guard.

STAM works his way to full guard. Good work. STAM has his foot on Nikolayev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nikolayev works his way back into a safe position though. STAM throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Nikolayev wants to control from the top but STAM keeps moving. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nikolayev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. STAM swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nikolayev got a little sloppy there for a moment and STAM has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nikolayev has managed to get both his arms back between STAM's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. STAM is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. STAM has his foot on Nikolayev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nikolayev works his way back into a safe position though. Nikolayev thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Nikolayev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Nikolayev avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
STAM is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
STAM had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Nikolayev is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. STAM Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Nikolayev's back instead. STAM throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Nikolayev is having to fend off submission attempts from STAM, who is looking to sink in the choke. STAM doesn't have the hooks in though and Nikolayev manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. Nikolayev decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Nikolayev gets the takedown into side control. Nikolayev throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. STAM is trying to control Nikolayev's posture but Nikolayev avoids it. STAM sneaks back into half guard. STAM makes his way to full guard. A much better position for STAM.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nikolayev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. STAM swivels though and keeps the full guard. STAM throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That was a close second round but I would say that Leonard STAM will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Andrey Nikolayev's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Nikolayev cracks STAM with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. STAM doesn't manage to clinch there - Nikolayev circles away.
STAM has his takedown stuffed and Nikolayev counters by clinching up. Nikolayev has STAM pressed against the cage, preventing STAM from circling away and getting back to striking at range. STAM wants to break free but Nikolayev has control.
STAM has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. STAM working hard to break the clinch. STAM with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. STAM has picked Nikolayev up - he's going for a ride! STAM dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. STAM is trying to control. Nikolayev wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Nikolayev desperately trying to maintain half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. STAM not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. STAM is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nikolayev defends it well. The fighters are battling for position here. Nikolayev manages to regain full guard. Nice work. STAM drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nikolayev manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now STAM has Nikolayev in his guard. Nikolayev showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Nikolayev wants to control from the top but STAM keeps moving. STAM looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Nikolayev passes into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nikolayev has knee on belly and moves into mount. Nikolayev lands a heavy elbow. Nikolayev blocks STAM's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. STAM tries to lock up and control but Nikolayev gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Nikolayev lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
STAM wants to hold on but Nikolayev pushes him away. STAM in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. STAM tries to hold on but Nikolayev postures up. STAM tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nikolayev has hold of STAM's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and STAM manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

STAM sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. STAM is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nikolayev is keen to just control but STAM is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. STAM has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nikolayev is working away from the top position though. STAM is pressing down on Nikolayev's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Nikolayev has gone for a leg lock! STAM slips out almost immediately though and dives into Nikolayev's guard. STAM trying to control the position from guard on top but Nikolayev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nikolayev keeping full guard, as STAM tries to pass. Nikolayev tries to strike from the bottom.
Nikolayev is controlling STAM's posture. STAM drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and STAM jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Andrey Nikolayev. I think Nikolayev has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
