Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lasse Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Major (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Major.
Kongo is looking for a sweep.
Kongo sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Kongo wants to improve his position but Major is controlling well.

Kongo looking for submissions off his back.
Major wants to control but Kongo is keeping him busy.
Kongo wants to get back to full guard.
Major trying to control the action but Kongo is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Major looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Major keeps the fight on the outside.
Kongo closes the distance looking to clinch

and Major counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Major stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kongo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kongo is looking to sweep but instead, Major has passed into half guard.
Major trying to pass the guard but Kongo defending well.
Kongo is not content to let Major control the position.
Kongo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Major is working away from the top position though.
Kongo wants to get back to his feet.
Kongo is trying to get back to full guard.

Major must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Major stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kongo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kongo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Kongo is breathing heavily.

Major defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kongo.
Kongo wants to control the pace but Major is squirming around nicely.
Major really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kongo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kongo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Major turns into him and now he's in Kongo's guard.

Kongo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Kongo looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Kongo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Major is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kongo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Major's back instead.
