Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Roger Sander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Regan Meredith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roger Sander has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roger Sander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Regan Meredith!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meredith misses with a wild combination.

Sander has managed to clinch.
Meredith fails to pull guard.
Meredith tries to pull guard but Sander holds him up against the cage and eventually Meredith drops back down to his feet.

Sander manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Meredith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sander swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Meredith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Meredith trying to control the position from guard on top but Sander is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sander looking for a sweep. Not yet Sander, not yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sander has control of Meredith's left arm, preventing Meredith from doing any damage.
Sander is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Meredith is controlling him.
Meredith wants to control from the top but Sander keeps moving.

Meredith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sander swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Meredith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Sander looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Meredith tries to free his leg and advance position but Sander is retaining full guard.
Sander can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Meredith controls the pace.
Meredith trying to control the position from guard on top but Sander is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sander not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Meredith pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sander is keeping the position for now.

Meredith stands up and waves to Sander to follow him.

and Sander counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Sander trying to control the action but Meredith is working from the bottom.

Meredith is trying to control but Sander passes into side control!

Meredith is just content to waste time from the top position. Sander takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Sander has a closed guard, preventing Meredith from standing up.
Meredith wants to control from the top but Sander keeps moving.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sander is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Sander working over Meredith with some ground and pound. Meredith looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meredith gets back to full guard.

Meredith thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Meredith doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Sander counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Sander is trying to control but can't.
Meredith stops Sander from getting back to his feet.

Sander is refusing to be controlled, as Meredith sits in half guard.
Meredith lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Meredith is looking to stall here but Sander recovers full guard.
Meredith wants to control from the top but Sander keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Meredith fails in his attempt to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Horrible takedown by Sander or perhaps it was just good defense by Meredith which made him look bad.
Meredith wants to clinch

and Sander counters with a shoot takedown. Meredith fights it but they end up in guard.

Sander thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Meredith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sander kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Meredith has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Sander escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Sander!
Roger Sander overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Meredith wants to control but Sander postures up.
Meredith is looking to regain half guard here but Sander keeps moving and retains side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Meredith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Sander counters with a shoot takedown. Meredith fights it but they end up in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Sander throws a shot from downtown. Meredith moves away and avoids it.

Sander bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Meredith is trying to get back to his feet.
Meredith tries to bench press Sander off him but Sander keeps the position.

Sander tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Meredith is looking for a sweep.
Meredith is trying to control Sander's posture but Sander avoids it.
Meredith is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Sander is looking to take a break and control but Meredith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Sander looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Meredith is trying to stand up here but Sander is controlling him well.
Sander not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Meredith actively working from the bottom here.
Sander passes to side control.
Meredith is trying to buck Sander off.

Meredith is trying to improve his position.
Meredith pushes Sander away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sander gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Regan Meredith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Roger Sander is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Regan Meredith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Sander has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
