PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Flex Weeler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Husk E Fella (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Flex Weeler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Husk E Fella!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fella fails in his attempt to clinch.
Weeler looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Weeler shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Fella is trying to defend but Weeler finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Fella wants to get back to full guard.
Fella is trying to stand.
Weeler blocks the strikes from Fella.
Fella is trying to stand up here but Weeler is controlling him well.
Fella is looking to get back to is feet but Weeler passes into side control.
Weeler prevents Fella from escaping the position.
Fella is looking to reverse the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fella.
Fella moves in looking to clinch but Weeler pushes him off.
Weeler showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fella.
Fella tries for a takedown but Weeler circles away easily

so Weeler counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Weeler is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fella wants to stand and escape but Weeler is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Weeler stays in close to Fella's body and controls the position.
Fella utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Fella is looking to stand up but Weeler isn't so interested in that idea.
Weeler working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fella's head.
Weeler advances position into side control!
Sloppy strikes there by Weeler.
Weeler avoids the strikes from the bottom by Fella.
Fella is looking to regain half guard here but Weeler keeps moving and retains side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Fella tries to clinch but Weeler is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Fella moves into the clinch.
Weeler taking a breather.
Fella tries for a takedown but Weeler manages to get underhooks.
Flex Weeler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Husk E Fella.
With the fighters up against the cage, Weeler throws an elbow but misses.
Fella wants a takedown.
Weeler can't get the takedown.
Fella drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Weeler gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Fella goes for a takedown in the clinch but Weeler prevents it.

Weeler has hold of one of Fella's legs. Fella is fighting the takedown attempt but Weeler gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Weeler stands and throws Fella's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Fella is trying to buck Weeler off.
Fella is looking to reverse the position.
Weeler working the ground and pound.
Fella is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Weeler is controlling him well.

Weeler has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Weeler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Fella misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Weeler moves into the clinch successfully.

Weeler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fella shoots in but Weeler avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Weeler drives through and clinches with Fella against the cage.
Fella is working for takedown but Weeler is calmly controlling the position for now.
Weeler wants to stall.
Fella tries to score a body lock takedown but Weeler shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Flex Weeler dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Weeler is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fella sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Fella drops Weeler with a right and a left! Fella comes rushing in but Weeler regains his composure and manages to keep Fella in guard.


It looks like Flex Weeler has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fella postures up and lands a big shot to Weeler's brow.
Fella must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fella scoring with some ground and pound.
Fella really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Weeler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Weeler has a closed guard, preventing Fella from standing up.
Fella landing some decent shots from guard.
Fella wants to stand but Weeler is controlling his posture from full guard.

Weeler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fella doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Weeler is tightening it up a little... Fella has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Fella reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Fella taps out! nice BJJ there by Weeler!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Flex Weeler!
