Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Torres! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Roy Walker! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker swats away the attempt to clinch by Torres. Walker avoids the head kick by Torres.
The fight stays on the outside here - Torres looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Torres feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Walker's calf. Torres plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Torres, right into the meat.
Torres throws a head kick that misses. Walker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Torres was covering up waiting for the punch and Walker finishes the takedown easily into guard. Walker is stalling in the full guard. Walker throws and elbow that misses. Torres uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Walker's guard. Nice move by Torres!
That's one minute gone in the round. Torres trying to stand up but can't free himself from Walker's guard. Torres stops Walker from standing up. Walker pulls Torres in close to prevent any damage. Walker pushes Torres off and scrambles back to his feet.
Walker needs to keep his hands up - Torres had a free shot at his head there. Torres tries to clinch but Walker is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Walker fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Torres tries to close the distance and clinch up but Walker swats him away and circles back towards the center. Walker looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Torres! Walker sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! The referee warns Torres that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walker thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Torres is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Torres is in a horrible position here. Walker smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Walker postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Torres looks a forlorn figure.

Walker connects with a right hand. Torres shakes it off. Torres keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. John Torres has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roy Walker. Torres tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Walker shoots for a double leg takedown but Torres sprawls well. He's pushed Walker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Torres tries to clinch there but Walker circles away.

Torres is bucking up trying to escape but Walker cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Walker controlling the position easily from mount. Walker lands a nice shot to the head. Walker putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Torres is trying to stand. Walker content just to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Walker really dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Walker seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Walker trying to control from half guard but Torres is working away.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Torres stuffs the takedown attempt from Walker. Walker gets slowly back to his feet. Walker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Torres's waist but Torres gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walker off to one side. Torres lands a high kick!
Walker shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Walker prevents Torres from standing back up.

Walker scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Walker with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Walker slips a nice elbow through Torres's hands, connecting with Torres's forehead. Walker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Torres looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Torres's head. Walker drops an elbow to the side of Torres's head. Walker slows the pace down in half guard. Torres has hold of Walker's hands but Walker slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Walker stops Torres from getting back to his feet.
Walker wants to pass the guard but Torres is defending well. Torres pushes Walker off but Walker dives into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Walker working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Torres is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Walker has just dragged him back down to the mat. Walker lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Torres down.

Torres is pushing Walker's head away, looking to escape. Walker manages to hold on to the position though. Walker wants to control but Torres is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Walker dominated that fourth round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Torres pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A punch lands to the side of Torres 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Nice. Torres parries the strikes from Walker easily there. Walker is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Torres to escape.
Torres wants to get back to his feet but Walker drags him back down. Walker is putting a hurting on Torres here, landing some big shots from side control. Torres is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Walker asserts his dominance and retains side control. Walker tries to move into full mount but can't pass Torres's legs. Torres is trying to buck Walker off.

John Torres has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Walker advances to mount. Roy Walker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Walker is in the full mount, landing strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! Roy Walker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Walker winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
