0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Carwin! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Philips fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carwin manages to avoid it. Carwin walks into a jab.
It looks like Chris Carwin has been cut. Philips swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Philips scores with a jab to the body. Carwin looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A punch combination from Philips misses. Philips avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A punch combination from Philips misses. Philips rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carwin moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Philips gets in close and instigates a clinch. Carwin being controlled against the cage. Philips is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Philips tries to land knees in the clinch but Carwin avoids the damage to the body. Carwin takes an elbow to the forehead.
That has opened up Chris Carwin's cut even more. Philips displaying some good clinch control by pressing Carwin up against the cage. Carwin's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Philips lands on the inside with an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. The is referee keeping an eye on Philips - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Chris Carwin's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Philips lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Philips lands on the inside with an uppercut. Philips lands an elbow that stopped Carwin in his tracks for a moment.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Chris Carwin's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
