Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DaMarcus Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Lamon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randy Lamon is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lamon. Lamon on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lamon moves into range and clinches up with Johnson. Lamon effectively controlling the action here. Lamon is trying to trip Johnson. He has hold of a leg but Johnson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lamon persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lamon is controlling him. Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Lamon stays in close to Johnson's body and controls the position. Lamon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Johnson is on top in guard.
Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Lamon looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lamon is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Lamon throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson stopping the sweep attempt from Lamon. Lamon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lamon looks gassed! Johnson pushes down on Lamon's leg and manages to get into half guard. Johnson wants to pass the guard but Lamon is defending well. Lamon is trying to stand.
Lamon won't allow Johnson to pass to mount.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Johnson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Johnson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Lamon tries to clinch up. Johnson digs a good body shot into Lamon's ribs. Johnson lands with a right hand. A combination from Johnson does no damage. Johnson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lamon doesn't seem bothered though. Johnson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lamon at a distance.
Lamon tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it. Johnson darts in trying to clinch and Lamon counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lamon is working away from the top position though. Johnson gets back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Johnson controls Lamon momentarily but Lamon frees himself. Johnson is really struggling to control Lamon but he's trying to hold on to the position. Johnson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Lamon postures up in Johnson's guard and throws a big left but Johnson blocks it. Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Johnson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that DaMarcus Johnson will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Lamon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Lamon gets the takedown into side control. Lamon working the head and body with strikes. Johnson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Johnson looking for submissions off his back. Lamon wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy. Johnson trying to hold on to Lamon's head to control him but Lamon postures up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lamon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lamon is looking to advance position but Johnson won't allow it. Lamon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Johnson is looking for a sweep. Lamon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Lamon on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lamon paws at him with a jab and circles away. Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lamon circles away. Lamon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lamon circles away quickly and effectively. Lamon shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily. Lamon takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Lamon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lamon takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson lands with a cross. Johnson stuns Lamon with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. DaMarcus Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Johnson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Lamon has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Johnson finds it's way round the side to connect with Lamon's head. Johnson's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Johnson duly obliges. Johnson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Johnson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Johnson fails with a takedown attempt. Johnson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Johnson throws a series of strikes that have Lamon backpedaling.
Lamon is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
A left and a right from Johnson both land. Nice combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson scores with a jab to the body. Lamon drives through with a takedown into guard. Johnson has his foot on Lamon's thigh. That's four minutes gone in the round. Lamon has hold of Johnson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Johnson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Johnson is squirming around, avoiding Lamon's attempts to control the action. Johnson regains half guard. Johnson is trying to stand back up but Lamon is controlling him

That was a close second round but I would say that DaMarcus Johnson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Johnson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Lamon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Johnson sprawls well initially but Lamon persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Lamon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Lamon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Lamon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Lamon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Lamon is thwarting Johnson's attempts to control the position. Lamon is trying to control the action in half guard but Johnson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Johnson is trying to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson looking for submissions off his back.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Lamon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Johnson is not content to let Lamon control the position. Johnson parries the strikes from Lamon easily there. Lamon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Johnson to escape.
Lamon misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Johnson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lamon. Lamon misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Johnson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Johnson. Johnson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Lamon preventing the sweep. Johnson is looking for a triangle but Lamon pushes his legs off easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lamon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lamon trying to move into half guard but instead Johnson has managed to sweep! Lamon keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson with a nice head shot there. Johnson wants to control from the top but Lamon keeps moving. Lamon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Johnson is aware though and is defending well. Lamon looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Johnson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Lamon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Lamon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lamon trying to hold on to Johnson's head to control him but Johnson postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lamon shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense. Lamon needs to keep his hands up - Johnson had a free shot at his head there. Johnson scores with a decent looking hook. Lamon on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. DaMarcus Johnson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lamon doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Lamon checks a low kick from Johnson. Johnson lands with a straight right. Lamon didn't see that one coming. Johnson scores with a one two! Lamon had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Johnson misses with a body kick. Lamon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side. Danga de danga de dang - Johnson scores with a four punch combination! Randy Lamon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Johnson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Lamon takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to DaMarcus Johnson. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Johnson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
