Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Woodley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Woodley has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matheus Gomes! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woodley keeps the fight on the outside. Woodley fails in his attempt to clinch. Gomes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Woodley circles away quickly and effectively. Gomes jabs Woodley right on the nose. Woodley blinks but takes it well. Gomes lands a jab-cross combination.
Woodley is rocked! Woodley is breathing heavily. Gomes looks to land a combination but Woodley avoids it well. Gomes clinches. Gomes can't get the takedown.
Woodley lands an elbow inside that Gomes shrugs off. Woodley is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Gomes is defending well for now. Gomes working hard to break the clinch. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Gomes avoids a wild elbow strike from Woodley. Woodley pushes Gomes back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Woodley struggles to land a body shot inside as Gomes controls his hands.
Woodley misses with a hook to the ribs.
A head punch on the inside from Woodley fails to land. Gomes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Gomes has had enough of the clinch but Woodley keeps him there for the moment. Gomes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Gomes working hard to break the clinch. Woodley looks to throw an elbow but misses. Gomes can't break the clinch.

Woodley misses with some punches.
Gomes is looking to break free of the clinch but Woodley has double underhooks. Woodley tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gomes avoids it. Gomes is trying to force a seperation but Woodley has the dominant position. A frustrated look appears on Gomes's face as he tries to break the clinch. Woodley throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Woodley has Gomes pressed against the cage, preventing Gomes from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Woodley misses with a short punch on the inside. Gomes has had enough of the clinch but Woodley keeps him there for the moment. Gomes is trying to force a seperation but Woodley has the dominant position. Woodley misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Woodley tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Gomes tightens his grip and picks Woodley up, before dumping him to the ground. Woodley manages to land in guard. Gomes wants to stand but Woodley is controlling his posture from full guard. Gomes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gomes stands and steps away. Woodley gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Gomes shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Woodley is trying to defend but Gomes finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Gomes has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Woodley works to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gomes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Woodley is proving hard to escape from.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gomes gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gomes swinging wilding here.
Woodley throws a big shot that misses. Gomes works over Woodley's head and body with a nice combination. Gomes circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gomes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Gomes tries to stand up but Woodley had a hold of his arm and he's managed to perform a nice reversal, into half guard. Gomes has one foot on Woodley's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Gomes scores with a takedown into Woodley's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Woodley trying to keep a closed guard but Gomes is proving a slippery customer.

Matheus Gomes dominated that round. That's time! Woodley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gomes shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Woodley is trying to defend but Gomes finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Gomes seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Woodley wants to get back to full guard. Gomes stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Woodley to get to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gomes scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Woodley trying to control but Gomes postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gomes wants to stand and escape but instead Woodley has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gomes wants to get back to his feet but Woodley passes into half guard.
Gomes pushes Woodley off but Woodley dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodley passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Gomes! Woodley won't let Gomes get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Woodley is standing up, even though he is in mount. Gomes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Woodley is fending him off so far but Gomes persists. Nope, Woodley circles away and we're back to standing. Woodley throws a sloppy head kick and Gomes moves out of range easily. Woodley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Gomes tries to stand but Woodley is controlling from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gomes preventing the sweep. Gomes wants to stand and escape but instead Woodley has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Gomes wants to stand and escape but Woodley is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matheus Gomes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Woodley catches Gomes with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Gomes misses with the combination.
Gomes closes the distance and clinches up with Woodley, looking for a takedown. Gomes pushes Woodley against the cage but Woodley circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Woodley is looking to clinch but Gomes is avoiding it.
Woodley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gomes swats him away and circles back towards the center. Woodley connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Gomes closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Woodley to the mat! Woodley manages to get full guard. Gomes trying to stand up but can't free himself from Woodley's guard. Gomes wants to stand and escape but instead Woodley has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Gomes wants to get back to his feet but Woodley passes into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woodley looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Woodley prevents Gomes from standing back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Woodley is looking to advance position but Gomes won't allow it. Woodley missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Gomes is refusing to be controlled, as Woodley sits in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gomes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Gomes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Woodley is proving hard to escape from. Gomes wants to stand and escape but instead Woodley has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Woodley is standing up over Gomes. Gomes looks to escape but Woodley dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Woodley decides to stand back up. Woodley steps back and let's Gomes get back to his feet. Woodley wants to clinch up but Gomes keeps it at a distance. Gomes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gomes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gomes stands up from mount. Strange move. A left lands for Gomes. Woodley fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pierre Woodley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Matheus Gomes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gomes swats away the attempt to clinch by Woodley. Gomes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Woodley circles away quickly and effectively.
And that's the end of the fight! Matheus Gomes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Gomes winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
