Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Urban Caveman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Urban Caveman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Rivera! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rivera shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Caveman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Caveman tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rivera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Caveman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rivera forces his way into half guard. Rivera is figuring out what he wants to do next. Caveman is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rivera's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rivera's back! Rivera rolls, trying to escape but Caveman keeps control of the position.
Rivera fending off the submission attempt from Caveman. Caveman is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Rivera has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Caveman doesn't have the hooks in and Rivera manages to turn into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Caveman throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Rivera trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rivera controls from within his opponent's guard. Caveman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rivera drops back looking for a leg! Caveman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Caveman manages to kick Rivera off! Rivera jumps back into Caveman's guard. Rivera looks gassed! Rivera content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rivera trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rivera avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Caveman keeping full guard, as Rivera tries to pass. Caveman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Rivera is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Caveman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Caveman's back! Caveman rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Caveman looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Rivera is keen to just control but Caveman is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Caveman trying to control from the bottom.
Rivera is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Caveman is looking to improve his position but Rivera isn't that keen on the idea. Caveman takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Rivera thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Caveman tries to lock up and control but Rivera gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Caveman is looking to get to half guard. Rivera takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Caveman is looking to improve his position but Rivera isn't that keen on the idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jose Rivera will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Rivera changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Caveman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Caveman is trying to get back to half guard. Caveman manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Rivera is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round. Caveman is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Caveman punching to the body, from the bottom. Rivera advances to half guard. Caveman flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Caveman is looking to control Rivera's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Caveman avoid being mounted? Rivera thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Caveman's head. Rivera is trying to control. Caveman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Caveman is trying to control but can't.
Rivera controlling the pace. Rivera is looking to take a break and control but Caveman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Caveman throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Caveman tries for a takedown but Rivera circles away easily and Rivera counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Caveman's guard now. Rivera pushes down on Caveman's leg and manages to get into half guard. Caveman makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Caveman. Rivera must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Caveman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Caveman tries to strike from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rivera tries to free his leg and advance position but Caveman is retaining full guard. Caveman is trying to keep Rivera in close.
Caveman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rivera is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Rivera is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Caveman is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Rivera has his hands clasped together but Caveman extends an breaks Rivera's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Caveman.
