The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clement shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McCarthy napping and manages to drive through into side control!
McCarthy wants to control but Clement postures up.
McCarthy tries to buck Clement off but Clement is having none of it.

McCarthy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Clement circles away quickly and effectively.

McCarthy scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Clement changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McCarthy tries to avoid it but Clement manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McCarthy to the ground. McCarthy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Clement tries to pull guard but McCarthy holds him up against the cage and eventually Clement drops back down to his feet.
McCarthy has had enough of the clinch but Clement keeps him there for the moment.
Clement keeps control of McCarthy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Clement has control of McCarthy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and McCarthy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
