Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Suttherlannd paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ruiz clinches up with Suttherlannd and pushes him back against the cage.
Suttherlannd changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ruiz fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A telegraphed right hand from Suttherlannd misses the target.
Kiieffer Suttherlannd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ruiz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Suttherlannd defends it nicely.

Ruiz shoots in looking for a takedown. Suttherlannd tries to sprawl out of it but Ruiz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Suttherlannd manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Suttherlannd closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Ruiz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Suttherlannd is trying to reverse the position but instead Ruiz has taken his back - oops!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Ruiz's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
