Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Akiyama Takumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baka Suigetsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akiyama Takumi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Baka Suigetsu!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takumi moves into the clinch successfully.
Takumi jumps into guard, dragging Suigetsu to the mat.
Suigetsu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Takumi is keeping the position for now.
Takumi wants to get back to his feet but Suigetsu is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Takumi wants to sweep here but Suigetsu controlling him for the moment.
Suigetsu controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Takumi is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Takumi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Takumi's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Takumi duly obliges.
It looks like Baka Suigetsu has been cut.
Suigetsu throws a head kick but Takumi moves out of range.

Suigetsu throws a right and a left that Takumi avoids nicely.
Horrible takedown by Takumi or perhaps it was just good defense by Suigetsu which made him look bad.

Suigetsu fails to land with a series of punches.

Suigetsu lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Suigetsu.
Takumi closes the distance and clinches up with Suigetsu, looking for a takedown. Takumi pushes Suigetsu against the ropes but Suigetsu circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Suigetsu tries to bum rush Takumi with a series of wild strikes but Takumi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Suigetsu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Takumi avoids it really well and circles away.

Takumi is breathing heavily.
Suigetsu wants to get back to his feet but Takumi drags him back down.
Takumi wants to stand but Suigetsu is controlling his arm.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Takumi prevents Suigetsu from escaping the position.

Takumi wants to take a breather but Suigetsu manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Takumi.

Suigetsu tries for a takedown but Takumi circles away easily
and Takumi counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Takumi looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Takumi stalling away here and it's allowed Suigetsu to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Takumi prevents Suigetsu from getting back to his feet.

Takumi throws and elbow that misses. Suigetsu uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Takumi's guard. Nice move by Suigetsu!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Takumi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Takumi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Suigetsu controls the pace.
Takumi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Suigetsu is pushing down on Takumi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Takumi is fighting to maintain full guard but Suigetsu has managed to sneak the leg through.
Suigetsu content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Suigetsu throws a leg kick which misses Takumi's front leg but catches the back leg as Takumi tries to avoid it.
Takumi scores with a one two! Suigetsu had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Takumi is looking to stand up but Suigetsu won't let him.

Suigetsu is edging up against the ropes. He's using the ropes to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Akiyama Takumi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That was a close second round but I would say that Akiyama Takumi will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Takumi takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Takumi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Suigetsu moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Takumi wants to work for an arm triangle but Suigetsu is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Akiyama Takumi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Takumi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Suigetsu does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Akiyama Takumi.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Takumi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
