Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ian Dolan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Micheal King!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dolan looks for a takedown but King sprawls well.
King should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Dolan fails in his attempt to clinch.

Dolan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Ian Dolan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dolan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Dolan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Horrible takedown by King or perhaps it was just good defense by Dolan which made him look bad.

Dolan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side.

King has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

King stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Dolan to get to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dolan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
King is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
King moves into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dolan moves in looking to clinch but King pushes him off.
Dolan throws a leg kick
and King makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Dolan doesn't succeed with the takedown
and King counters with a one-two to the body.
King lands a head kick. Dolan smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like Ian Dolan has been cut.
Ian Dolan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

King moves into the clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Dolan.
King working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Dolan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. King smiles and moves away.
Dolan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. King defends it nicely.

King shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dolan as he jumps to the side.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dolan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. King looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
King is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dolan has just dragged him back down to the mat.
King gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Dolan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but King does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Nice strikes from Dolan there.
Dolan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dolan misses with some ground and pound and King recovers position to half guard.
Dolan is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Dolan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

King is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

King lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

King swats away the attempt to clinch by Dolan.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
King lands a nice looking kick to the body. Dolan takes a step back to recover.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ian Dolan will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

King jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dolan walks away with a smile on his face. King gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

King stands and steps away. Dolan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dolan is desperately trying to improve his position but King has a good base and remains in mount.
Dolan wants to hold on but King pushes him away.

Micheal King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well King has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
