PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Electric Feel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Win XP (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Electric Feel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Win XP!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
XP dodges the punch combination from Feel.
Feel throws a sloppy head kick and XP moves out of range easily.

Feel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Feel wants to take a breather but XP is having none of it.
XP is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Feel is looking to advance position but XP won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
XP is trying to get back to full guard.
Feel missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Feel in particular looking to stall.
Feel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for XP on the ground.
Feel prevents XP from improving his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
XP throws a lazy head kick

and Feel counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for XP!
XP is looking to get to half guard.
Feel can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as XP is looking to escape.
Feel is landing with some decent strikes but XP is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Feel looking to control and managing it successfully.
XP keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Feel wants to control the pace but XP is squirming around nicely.
XP is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Feel controlling his opponent.
XP tries to buck Feel off but Feel takes his back!
XP looking very determined here, making life difficult for Feel.
Feel is trying to stick to XP's back but XP is turning into Feel. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Feel's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by XP.

Feel working a defensive guard here.

XP is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Feel is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Feel has escaped and now he's on top!
XP looks gassed!
XP is looking to stand up but Feel isn't so interested in that idea.
Feel content to stall in guard here.
Feel working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

XP working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Feel doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Feel manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Feel stands up from XP's guard - Feel perhaps looking for a knockout.

Feel moves into the clinch.
XP tries to score a body lock takedown but Feel shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Feel fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Feel is trying to break free.
Feel tries to pull guard but XP won't allow it.
Feel wants to break free but XP has control.
XP prevents Feel from breaking the clinch.

XP breaks the clinch.

Feel throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. XP was covering up waiting for the punch and Feel finishes the takedown easily into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Electric Feel dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


XP shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Feel counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in XP's guard now.

Feel gets to his feet - XP follows without any prompting.
XP moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Feel feints and as XP raises his hands in defense, Feel changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Feel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed XP's guard.
Feel content to control rather than advance.
XP flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

XP looking for submissions off his back.
Feel lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Still in half guard, Feel seems content to control.
Feel trying to pass the guard but XP defending well.
XP makes his way to full guard. A much better position for XP.

XP manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Feel looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Feel trying to control but XP is working from the bottom.

Feel gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
XP with a poor takedown

and Feel decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in XP's guard.
Feel controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

XP looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Feel has picked XP up and slammed him! XP can't keep hold of the triangle and Feel manages to pass to side control!
XP gets back to half guard.
XP tries to kick Feel off but Feel keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Feel in particular looking to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Feel seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down XP for as long as he can get away with.

XP looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
XP flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

XP is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Feel pulls his head out easily.
XP taking some punishment here, with Feel in his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Feel tries a head kick but it misses.
XP misses with a takedown attempt

and Feel counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Electric Feel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Win XP.
Feel wants to control from the top but XP keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
XP wants to stand but Feel is controlling the position.

Feel gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
XP shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Feel counters with a shoot takedown. XP fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

XP has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Feel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

XP has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Feel is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for XP.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Feel is looking to take a break and control but XP is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Electric Feel dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


XP gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Feel counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Feel looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Feel seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Feel wants to pass the guard but XP is defending well.
Electric Feel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
XP is looking to improve his position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Feel is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
XP tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Still in half guard, Feel seems content to control.
The fighters are battling for position here. XP manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
XP wants to get back to his feet but Feel passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
XP throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
XP regains full guard. Nicely done.
Feel is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Feel wants to control from the top but XP keeps moving.
XP keeping full guard, as Feel tries to pass.
Feel trying to control but XP is working from the bottom.
Feel looking to sit in guard and control but XP gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
XP trying to stand up but can't free himself from Feel's guard.
XP advances position into side control!
Feel stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
Feel is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that XP can do to turn this around?

The referee stands the fighters back up. Electric Feel just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
XP misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Feel shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. XP manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Feel has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Feel stands and steps away. XP gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Win XP seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Feel darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Electric Feel showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Feel has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
