The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lempertz shoots in for a double leg but McNugget sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Lempertz throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Lempertz tries to clinch up but McNugget circles away and keeps his distance.

McNugget is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
McNugget is desperately trying to improve his position but Lempertz has a good base and remains in mount.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McNugget throws a looping overhand right but Lempertz ducks down to avoid it.
Lempertz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McNugget tries to avoid it but Lempertz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McNugget to the ground. McNugget escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lempertz is breathing heavily.
Lempertz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McNugget.

McNugget stuffs the takedown attempt from Lempertz. Lempertz gets slowly back to his feet.
Electrolux McNugget has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bernd Lempertz.
Lempertz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McNugget as he jumps to the side.
McNugget throws a hook to the side of Lempertz's head but Lempertz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

McNugget is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lempertz's half guard.
Lempertz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McNugget is working away from the top position though.
Lempertz might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McNugget kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
McNugget moves nicely into side control.
