Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nick Dunsmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bashir Saladin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dunsmore might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rock Superstar. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nick Dunsmore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bashir Saladin! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saladin takes one to the chin there. No joy there for Saladin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Saladin misses with a kick to the body.
Dunsmore avoids a kick to the body.
Saladin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A big left from Saladin misses. Saladin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dunsmore. Dunsmore takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Dunsmore digs a good body shot into Saladin's ribs. Dunsmore throws a front kick aimed at Saladin's knee but Saladin avoids it well. Dunsmore attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Saladin throws a hook but Dunsmore avoids it easily. Dunsmore cracks Saladin with a right hand to the side of the head. Dunsmore connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Saladin momentarily.
Dunsmore shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Saladin napping and manages to drive through into side control! Saladin is trying to control Dunsmore's posture but Dunsmore avoids it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dunsmore wants to control but Saladin is keeping him busy. Dunsmore working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dunsmore working the body and head with strikes. Dunsmore thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Dunsmore misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Saladin is not content to let Dunsmore control the position. Saladin is trying to control Dunsmore's posture but Dunsmore avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dunsmore tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dunsmore has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Dunsmore goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Saladin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dunsmore's guard! Nice work there by Saladin! Dunsmore keeping moving, preventing Saladin from controlling successfully. Saladin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dunsmore wants to sweep but no luck. Dunsmore keeping moving, preventing Saladin from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saladin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Saladin trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dunsmore's guard. Dunsmore looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dunsmore wants to sweep but no luck. Saladin wants to control from the top but Dunsmore keeps moving. Dunsmore escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Saladin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Saladin trying to control but Dunsmore is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Saladin won't allow Dunsmore to sweep him here. Dunsmore will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Nick Dunsmore dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Saladin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dunsmore manages to avoid it. Dunsmore's corner calls for a 1-2. Dunsmore obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Saladin misses with a straight right. Saladin stuffs the takedown. Dunsmore tries to score with a low kick but Saladin moves his leg out of the way. Dunsmore lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Saladin at a distance.
Saladin throws a head kick but Dunsmore moves out of range.
Dunsmore misses the jab. Dunsmore blocks a low kick nicely. Bashir Saladin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nice defenses there by Dunsmore. Dunsmore just misses with a punch to the body.

It looks like Nick Dunsmore has been cut. Nice uppercut lands for Dunsmore. That snapped Saladin's head back.
Bashir Saladin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Saladin misses with a telegraphed body shot
enabling Dunsmore to counter with a crisp jab. Saladin thows a left - swing and a miss! Dunsmore lands a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Saladin looks for the body kick but Dunsmore saw that one coming. Dunsmore throws a jab when Saladin was well out of range. Saladin misses with a kick to the body and Dunsmore counters with a takedown into side control. Dunsmore is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Saladin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Dunsmore wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Saladin, who protects the arm well. Dunsmore tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dunsmore has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Dunsmore is trying to get an arm triangle but Saladin is defending well.

Dunsmore trying to control the position but Saladin is working away. Saladin can't do much from the bottom here. Saladin is looking to regain half guard here but Dunsmore keeps moving and retains side control. Saladin is not content to let Dunsmore control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dunsmore cracks Saladin with a big right hand but Saladin just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Saladin looks to land a combination but Dunsmore avoids it well. Bashir Saladin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Saladin looks to land a right hand but Dunsmore moved out of range. Dunsmore misses with a wild body shot. Saladin throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Dunsmore. Saladin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dunsmore throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dunsmore waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Saladin. Dunsmore ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Dunsmore listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Saladin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Dunsmore's head backwards. Saladin misses with a straight left. Dunsmore cracks Saladin with a right hand to the side of the head. Dunsmore steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Saladin. Saladin on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Dunsmore just misses with a punch to the body.
Dunsmore smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Dunsmore shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dunsmore was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Saladin tries to reverse the position but Dunsmore maintains control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Saladin has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Saladin is really stuck here.

Nick Dunsmore dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Nick Dunsmore's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Dunsmore lands a jab. Dunsmore punishes Saladin's body with a nice straight punch. Dunsmore chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Saladin looks for the body kick but Dunsmore saw that one coming. Saladin misses with an uppercut. Dunsmore saw that one coming. Saladin takes one to the side of the head.
Dunsmore moves away from the strike by Saladin. Saladin throws a head kick that misses. Dunsmore uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Saladin. Saladin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Saladin throws a jab when Dunsmore was well out of range. A shot to de liver by Dunsmore. Beautiful body shot. Dunsmore scores with a nice head shot. Dunsmore fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Saladin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dunsmore shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Saladin. No joy for Dunsmore on that attempt. Dunsmore shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Saladin's guard. Dunsmore stands and throws Saladin's legs to the side, diving into side control. Saladin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dunsmore. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dunsmore stands up. A nice inside leg kick there by Dunsmore. That's going to slow Saladin down. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dunsmore, as that shot connected.
Dunsmore shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Saladin but Saladin pushes him off and we're back to square one. A decent looking body kick lands there for Saladin. Saladin throws a sloppy head kick and Dunsmore moves out of range easily. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Saladin, right into the meat.
Dunsmore connects with a right hand. Saladin shakes it off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saladin walks into a left hand. Saladin swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Dunsmore counters with a takedown into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dunsmore looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Saladin is looking for a sweep. Bashir Saladin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Saladin takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Dunsmore trying to control the position but Saladin is working away. Dunsmore is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Saladin can do to turn this around? Dunsmore thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Dunsmore working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saladin dodges the ground and pound from Dunsmore. You can see the frustration on Saladin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Saladin is looking to regain half guard here but Dunsmore keeps moving and retains side control. Saladin struggling a bit here. Dunsmore scores with punches from side control. Saladin is looking for a sweep. Dunsmore is working to tighten is grip on Saladin's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Saladin has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Dunsmore is really squeezing tight and eventually Saladin passes out! Dunsmore breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
