The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ortiz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Escobar tries to reverse the position but Ortiz maintains control.
Ortiz lands a big elbow.

Escobar is rocked!

It looks like Hector Escobar has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Escobar can't escape the position.
Ortiz trying to control but Escobar is having none of it.
Ortiz prevents Escobar from getting the reversal.
Escobar sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Escobar slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Escobar pushes a forearm under Ortiz's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ortiz is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
