The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne shoots in looking for a takedown. Slaughter tries to sprawl out of it but Payne keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Slaughter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Slaughter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Payne looks gassed!
Slaughter lands with a nice body punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Payne takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Slaughter lands a big right hand that sends Payne crashing to the mat! Slaughter stays standing though and waves Payne back to his feet!
It looks like Major Payne has been cut.
Slaughter connects with a stiff jab that staggers Payne - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
