Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Stonehead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rey Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Rey Jones will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Stonehead! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rey Jones! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stonehead shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Stonehead looking to control but Jones is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Stonehead stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Stonehead misses with the combination.
Stonehead pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch. Stonehead has Jones pushed against the cage. Stonehead jumps guard and drags Jones to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Jones postures up.
Stonehead seems keen to control Jones's posture. Jones postures up.
Stonehead wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Stonehead looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Jones looks gassed! Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Stonehead shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jones gets caught flat footed, as Stonehead shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Jones pulls Stonehead in to control the position. Jones keeping moving, preventing Stonehead from controlling successfully. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stonehead. Jones uses the cage to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stonehead shoots in but no luck this time. Jones leaves Stonehead with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Stonehead. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones has a takedown stuffed. Jones tries to clinch up. Jones closes the distance and clinches. Stonehead pulls guard successfully.
Stonehead trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Stonehead working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Stonehead is trying to keep Jones in close.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stonehead is looking for a triangle here but Jones uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Jones working away. Stonehead regains half guard. Stonehead looks like he's trying to stand up.
Stonehead gets full guard. Jones wants to stand but Stonehead has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jones stands up from Stonehead's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout. Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stonehead was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard. Stonehead avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Stonehead is trying to keep Jones in close.
Stonehead looking for a sweep. Not yet Stonehead, not yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mike Stonehead will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Stonehead closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Stonehead pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Stonehead has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Stonehead shoots and misses and Jones holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Stonehead has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jones regains guard immediately. Jones is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Stonehead stands up and waves to Jones to follow him. Jones throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Stonehead counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones controlling the position. Jones wants to stand but Stonehead is controlling the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stonehead thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Jones is trying to keep Stonehead in close.
Stonehead is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Stonehead decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Jones misses with a double jab.
Jones tries to clinch but Stonehead is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Stonehead shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but Stonehead finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Stonehead is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Stonehead to get the leverage. Stonehead wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working. Stonehead passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jones! Stonehead putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Stonehead. Stonehead lands a big shot there that rocks Jones but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Stonehead can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape. Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't. Stonehead looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Stonehead is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Jones is forced to tap! Great finish!
