Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quincy Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kak Sandwich!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sandwich closes the distance and clinches.
Sandwich misses with a hook from the clinch.
Sandwich scores a nice knee to the body.
Jackson trying to control the position but instead, Sandwich has worked for underhooks and has pushed Jackson into the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Jackson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sandwich walks away with a smile on his face. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Sandwich moves into the clinch.

Sandwich breaks from the clinch.
Sandwich tries to clinch up.
Sandwich throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jackson misses the jab.
Sandwich misses with a head kick.
Sandwich tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Jackson looks to score with a jab to the body but Sandwich is just out of range.
Sandwich is looking to clinch.
Jackson misses with a two punch combination.
Sandwich misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sandwich tries a head kick but it misses.
Jackson is looking to clinch.
Sandwich circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jackson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sandwich stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Sandwich feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jackson's calf.
Sandwich tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Sandwich sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jackson looks to land a combination. Sandwich sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Jackson checks the leg kick nicely there.
Sandwich looks to clinch
and Jackson counters with a series of strikes. Sandwich will be more careful next time no doubt.


It looks like Kak Sandwich has been cut.

Jackson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sandwich tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jackson misses with a wild body shot.
Sandwich throws a lazy head kick

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Sandwich fights it but they end up in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sandwich is looking to stand back up but Jackson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Sandwich.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson slips a nice elbow through Sandwich's hands, connecting with Sandwich's forehead.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura but Sandwich is defending well.
Jackson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Jackson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sandwich looks like he's trying to stand up.

Jackson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sandwich, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jackson wants to clinch but Sandwich slips to the side
and Sandwich counters with a head kick. That will keep Jackson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Sandwich doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Jackson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sandwich as he avoids it easily.

Quincy Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Sandwich sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sandwich stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quincy Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jackson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sandwich's half guard.

Jackson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jackson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sandwich's head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jackson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sandwich with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jackson lands a nice short elbow.
Jackson is nestled in close to Sandwich, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jackson works his way into side control.
Jackson takes a little break here. Sandwich wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Jackson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Sandwich to see if he's OK.

Sandwich really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Jackson decides to stand back up. Jackson steps back and let's Sandwich get back to his feet.
Sandwich drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sandwich's waist but Sandwich gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side.
Jackson tries for a takedown but Sandwich sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jackson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sandwich is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jackson has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Sandwich takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Sandwich takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Jackson cracks Sandwich with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Sandwich is still in real trouble! Can Jackson finish him?

Jackson cracks Sandwich with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Jackson immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Sandwich is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Jackson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quincy Jackson!
