Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Gomes da Silva Filho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Polaski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Polaski will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesse Gomes da Silva Filho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Polaski!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Polaski, right into the meat.

Polaski gets caught flat footed, as da Silva Filho shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Polaski wants to sweep here but da Silva Filho controlling him for the moment.

Polaski manages to escape and get back to his feet.
da Silva Filho steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Polaski.
Polaski looks to land a combination but da Silva Filho avoids it well.
da Silva Filho throws a nice looking combination but Polaski bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
da Silva Filho throws a jab but it's blocked by Polaski.
A jab from da Silva Filho finds it's way through Polaski's defenses.
Polaski lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from da Silva Filho.
da Silva Filho misses with a takedown attempt - Polaski sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Polaski rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but da Silva Filho moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Polaski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but da Silva Filho circles away quickly and effectively.
Polaski shoots in looking for a takedown. da Silva Filho tries to sprawl out of it but Polaski keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. da Silva Filho manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Polaski misses with a takedown attempt - da Silva Filho sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Polaski is looking to clinch but da Silva Filho is avoiding it.

Polaski is fighting to break da Silva Filho's control of his arms but da Silva Filho is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Polaski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Polaski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around da Silva Filho's waist but da Silva Filho gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Polaski off to one side.

The fighters are battling for position here. Polaski manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Polaski drives through and clinches with da Silva Filho against the cage.
da Silva Filho tries to circle away but Polaski has him pinned against the cage.
Polaski is working for takedown but da Silva Filho is calmly controlling the position for now.

Polaski manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Polaski seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but da Silva Filho does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

da Silva Filho takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Polaski shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Polaski was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
da Silva Filho is looking to improve his position but Polaski isn't that keen on the idea.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Polaski lands with some vicious ground and pound - can da Silva Filho hang on?

Polaski lands a big shot there that rocks da Silva Filho but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
James Polaski has got the better of the ground game so far.
da Silva Filho is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Polaski is going olschool here, as he tries to force da Silva Filho to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so da Silva Filho shrugs it off.

James Polaski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Horrible takedown by da Silva Filho or perhaps it was just good defense by Polaski which made him look bad.

Polaski closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Jesse Gomes da Silva Filho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Polaski.

Polaski has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. da Silva Filho is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

James Polaski is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Polaski goes for a takedown in the clinch but da Silva Filho prevents it.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jesse Gomes da Silva Filho.
Well Polaski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
