Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between YB Sol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Kanehara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sol comes to the cage accompanied by SFIV - Theme of Ryu 2. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Akira Kanehara enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, YB Sol!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Akira Kanehara!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sol shoots in for a takedown but Kanehara shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A decent looking cross lands there for Sol.

Sol lands a right hook to the body.

A jab from Sol does it's job there.
Sol throws out a powerful jab.
Kanehara throws a right hand that Sol ducks under and follows up with a left that Sol also avoids with ease.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sol tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kanehara swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kanehara on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Good leg kick by Sol there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Sol tries to close the distance and clinch but Kanehara swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Sol counters with a series of strikes. Kanehara will be more careful next time no doubt.
Sol thuds his right hand into Kanehara's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Sol connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kanehara. Kanehara circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Sol has Kanehara pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sol pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kanehara tumbling to the mat - Sol dives into Kanehara's guard.

Sol seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Sol has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sol wants to free his trapped foot but Kanehara is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Sol lunges at Kanehara with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kanehara's hand.
Sol is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Sol throws a half hearted mid kick.
Kanehara changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sol tries to avoid it but Kanehara manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sol to the ground. Sol escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Akira Kanehara has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sol tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kanehara sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sol somewhat.

Well Sol has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
