Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick East! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Baley! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! East misses with a wild body shot. East slips a jab and a cross from Baley.
East shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Baley napping and manages to drive through into side control! A control attempt from Baley but he's now mounted! East landing punches. East punishing his opponent with strikes. East thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Baley wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by East.
East throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Baley because East loaded up on that one. Baley wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by East.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baley tries to reverse the position but East maintains control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. East thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Baley avoids a series of strikes thrown by East.
East is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Baley has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Baley! Baley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Baley won't allow East to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. East is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Baley is aware though and is defending well. East pushes Baley off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Baley misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
East takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! East throws a front kick aimed at Baley's knee but Baley avoids it well. East avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for Baley, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

East throws a solid leg kick but Baley takes the impact on his shin and smiles at East. Baley throws a right hand that East ducks under and follows up with a left that East also avoids with ease. Baley misses with a few strikes there.

East closes the distance and clinches up with Baley, looking for a takedown. East pushes Baley against the cage but Baley circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Baley looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Baley connects with the punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. East misses with a low kick. East misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Baley counters with a series of strikes. East will be more careful next time no doubt. East is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
East throws a looping overhand right but Baley ducks down to avoid it. East throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Baley avoids a lazy jab quite easily. East showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Baley.
Baley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
East misses with a body kick. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Baley swinging wilding here.
Paul Baley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. East buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Baley throws a wild combination but nothing lands. East lands with an overhand left. East scores with a jab to the body. East rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Baley moves out of range and avoids them all easily. East misses with an uppercut. Baley throws a left and a right that both miss
and East counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Baley looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. East uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Baley.
Baley ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. East tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Baley throws a nice looking combination but East bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Baley tries to bum rush East with a series of wild strikes but East uses good footwork to avoid the assault. East tries a head kick but it misses.
East looks to land a body kick but Baley moved away. Baley throws a wild combination but nothing lands. No joy there for Baley, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Baley checks a leg kick. An inside leg kick from Baley misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick East dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
East attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Baley throws a combination that misses and East cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. East throws an overhand right that drops Baley like a sack of potatoes! East dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick East!
