Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Milbert Smirnov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Milbert Smirnov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir throws the kick towards the body but Smirnov avoids it. Smirnov lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Mir closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Mir wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smirnov, who protects the arm well. Mir is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Smirnov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Smirnov is trying to work for a sweep but Mir has mounted him! Mir tries to control but Smirnov wriggling away. Mir working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Mir trying to control but he's not successful this time. Smirnov has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Mir looking for the RNC. Smirnov is breathing heavily. Mir scores with punches and elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir avoiding Smirnov 's attempts to control his hands. Mir tightening his grip on Smirnov, looking for the choke. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smirnov trying to get back to his feet but Mir is in full control for now. Smirnov's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Mir's hands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. I really don't envy Smirnov right now.
Mir is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Mir is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Smirnov defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Smirnov is trying to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smirnov rolls, trying to escape but Mir keeps control of the position.
Smirnov wants to control his opponent's hands but Mir gets his hands free. Mir is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Smirnov. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Smirnov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mir on the ground. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mir loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Smirnov hold on?
Smirnov is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Mir dominated that round. That's time! Smirnov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Smirnov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mir. Smirnov throws a head kick that misses. Smirnov lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Smirnov. Smirnov throws a push kick but Mir slaps the foot to one side. Mir shoots in looking for a takedown. Smirnov tries to sprawl out of it but Mir keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smirnov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smirnov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smirnov throws a series of punches but Mir moves out of range. Milbert Smirnov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir shoots in for a takedown but Smirnov shows good takedown defense. Milbert Smirnov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Mir. Smirnov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Mir drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mir working the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smirnov wants to control but Mir postures up. Mir working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Smirnov is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Smirnov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Smirnov tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Mir presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Smirnov is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Mir is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Smirnov can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Mir has hold of Smirnov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Smirnov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir working for a guillotine from mount but Smirnov is in no mood to give up. Smirnov really wants to buck Mir off and get back to his feet. A nice elbow there by Mir. Smirnov is trying to escape the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mir has control of Smirnov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Smirnov regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Mir landing strikes, looking to finish! Mir lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Smirnov hang on? Smirnov in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Mir showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Smirnov punishes Mir's body with a nice straight punch. A solid body kick from Smirnov. Mir misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Mir shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Smirnov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Mir stands up over Smirnov, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Mir advances to half guard. Smirnov wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Smirnov defending well though. Smirnov is not content to let Mir control the position. Mir thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Smirnov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mir looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Smirnov is looking to get back to is feet but Mir passes into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Smirnov is trying to buck Mir off. Mir controls the position from side control. Mir has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Mir is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Smirnov looks calm but he's in trouble here. Mir gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Smirnov is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Mir lets go of the hold and Smirnov can pop his arm back in it's socket.
