Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Connor Madigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erek Oberdorf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oberdorf has chosen Not Falling as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Connor Madigan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erek Oberdorf! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Madigan gets a clinch. Oberdorf can't break the clinch.
Madigan manages to break the clinch.
Madigan circles away from the clinch attempt and Madigan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Madigan. Madigan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Oberdorf works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Madigan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Madigan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oberdorf closes the distance but Madigan moves to the side and Madigan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Oberdorf's guard now. Oberdorf keeping moving, preventing Madigan from controlling successfully. Madigan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oberdorf swivels though and keeps the full guard. Madigan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Oberdorf lands with a slapping head kick. A head kick misses from Oberdorf.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oberdorf clinches but Madigan breaks the clinch and Madigan holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Oberdorf has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Madigan is trying to drag Oberdorf to the mat but Oberdorf just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Come on Madigan - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Madigan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Oberdorf tries to clinch and Madigan counters with a single leg into guard. Oberdorf didn't expect that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Madigan gets to his feet - Oberdorf follows without any prompting. Madigan is breathing heavily. Oberdorf throws a head kick that misses letting Madigan counter with a right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oberdorf gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Madigan to score an easy takedown into full guard. Oberdorf working for submissions but it's allowed Madigan to get to half guard.
Madigan is trying to control. Oberdorf wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Oberdorf should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oberdorf is looking to escape. Madigan with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Madigan is trying to control the action in half guard but Oberdorf is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Madigan wants to pass the guard but Oberdorf is defending well. Madigan passes to side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Connor Madigan dominated that round. That's time! Madigan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Oberdorf tries to clinch and Madigan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Oberdorf! Erek Oberdorf has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Madigan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Oberdorf tries to buck Madigan off but Madigan takes his back! Madigan is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Will Madigan go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

That's one minute gone in the round. Madigan misses with punches from the back. Madigan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Madigan is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Oberdorf controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Madigan keeps control of the position easily here as Oberdorf tries to buck him off.
Oberdorf wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oberdorf takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Oberdorf manages to stand up with Madigan still on his back. Eventually Madigan drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position. Oberdorf tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Madigan counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Madigan fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Madigan using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Oberdorf has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Madigan tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Oberdorf just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Connor Madigan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Madigan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Madigan closes the distance and clinches. Madigan tries to pull guard but Oberdorf holds him up against the cage and eventually Madigan drops back down to his feet.
Madigan wants to stall.
Madigan dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Madigan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Oberdorf's elbow. Madigan keeps control of Oberdorf as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Connor Madigan dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Madigan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Madigan trying to control the position from guard on top but Oberdorf is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Oberdorf looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round. Madigan wants to control from the top but Oberdorf keeps moving. Madigan is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Madigan trying to control but Oberdorf is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oberdorf looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oberdorf wants to get back to his feet but Madigan is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Madigan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Oberdorf is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Oberdorf has escaped and now he's on top! Oberdorf prevents Madigan from getting back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Madigan working a defensive guard but Oberdorf passes into half guard.
Madigan is trying to stand.
Madigan is trying to maintain the position but Oberdorf is very close to passing his half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Madigan is looking to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Connor Madigan showed his dominance in that final round. Well Madigan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
