Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Shannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Bismol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bismol has chosen Here Comes The Pain as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeff Shannon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Bismol! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bismol fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shannon sprawls well initially but Bismol persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bismol is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Shannon's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Bismol working Shannon over with strikes here. Shannon is in all sorts of trouble here.
Bismol seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Shannon is holding on tight.
Shannon wants to control but Bismol is having none of it. Bismol is going olschool here, as he tries to force Shannon to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Shannon shrugs it off. Bismol controlling from the full mount. Bismol working for a submission but Shannon is keeping him at bay. Shannon tries to reverse the position but Bismol maintains control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bismol avoids the attempt from Shannon to control. Shannon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Bismol controlling the position easily from mount. Shannon prevents Bismol from taking his back. Bismol is in the full mount, landing strikes. Bismol is working for a guillotine from mount but Shannon frees his head quite easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bismol swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Shannon is now in Bismol's guard. A big mistake from Bismol there, giving up the dominant position! Shannon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Bismol looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Shannon passes into side control.
Bismol looks gassed! Bismol manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Shannon actively working from the bottom here. Shannon is in trouble now - Bismol has advanced to mount! Bismol in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Bismol jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Shannon is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Shannon and Bismol has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shannon is not content to let Bismol control the position. Bismol fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Bismol wants to control but Shannon is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bismol is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shannon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bismol lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Shannon down.
Bismol goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Shannon rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bismol's guard! Nice work there by Shannon! Bismol is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Shannon advances to half guard. Bismol wants to control but Shannon passes into side.
Bismol is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Bismol dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
A punch combination from Bismol misses. Shannon lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bismol's sensitive parts. Shannon blocks a jab. Nice defenses there by Shannon. Shannon tries to close the distance and clinch but Bismol swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Shannon lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Bismol fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shannon sprawls well initially but Bismol persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Shannon tries to roll over but Bismol keeps him under control. Bismol is looking for a kimura but Shannon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bismol to get the leverage. Shannon wants to get back to full guard. Bismol wants to take a breather but Shannon is having none of it. Bismol frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Bismol lands a heavy elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shannon keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Shannon is working hard here to advance position. Bismol looking to secure an arm triangle but Shannon defends it well. Bismol looking to finish with strikes here!
Shannon tries to reverse the position but Bismol maintains control. Bismol wants to control the pace but Shannon is squirming around nicely. Shannon wants to control but Bismol is having none of it. Bismol controlling from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. BOOM! Bismol connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Possibly, maybe, no Bismol has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bismol wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shannon keeps working. Shannon is trying to improve his position. Bismol is trying to get an arm triangle but Shannon is defending well. Bismol taking a breather here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bismol has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Shannon! Shannon is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Shannon really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Bismol controlling the position easily from mount. Bismol wants to finish this one by submission but Shannon is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bismol. Shannon wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Matt Bismol showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Bismol missing with a left hand there. Shannon was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Good leg kick by Shannon there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bismol's corner calls for a 1-2. Bismol obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Bismol thows a left - swing and a miss! Shannon tries for a takedown but Bismol circles away easily and Bismol counters with a single leg into guard. Shannon didn't expect that. Shannon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bismol controls the pace. Bismol sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Shannon's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bismol in particular looking to stall. Bismol's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Bismol is keen to just control but Shannon is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shannon is looking to control Bismol's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shannon avoid being mounted? Bismol stands up and beckons Shannon to join him on the feet. Bismol throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shannon was covering up waiting for the punch and Bismol finishes the takedown easily into guard. Bismol looking to pass the guard. Bismol postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shannon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bismol, into his guard. Bismol escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shannon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shannon trying to control the position from guard on top but Bismol is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bismol looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shannon is one step ahead there. Shannon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bismol is not content to let Shannon control the position. Bismol sneaks back into half guard. Bismol regains full guard. Nicely done. Bismol working for a triangle but Shannon defends it easily.
