The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Capone tries to clinch but Hanson moves out of range.

Hanson has Capone up against the cage in a clinch.
Capone looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Hanson.

Capone manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hanson trying to control the position from guard on top but Capone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Capone keeping full guard, as Hanson tries to pass.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Capone shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hanson as he jumps to the side.

Capone tries to roll over but Hanson keeps him under control.
Hanson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Hanson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Hanson is thwarting Capone's attempts to control the position.
Capone makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Capone.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Capone tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hanson tries to stand but Capone is controlling from the bottom.
Capone controls Hanson momentarily but Hanson frees himself.
Capone wants to stand but Hanson is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Capone wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Hanson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Capone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hanson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
You can see the frustration on Capone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hanson decides to stand back up. Hanson steps back and let's Capone get back to his feet.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Capone lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hanson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hanson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Capone throws a nice looking combination but Hanson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Hanson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Capone has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hanson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Capone wants to break free but Hanson has control.
Hanson scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Capone is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hanson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Capone tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hanson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Capone.
Capone misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Hanson is trying to trip Capone. He has hold of a leg but Capone is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hanson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Capone will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hanson wants the takedown. Capone is fighting it off but Hanson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Capone's guard against the cage.

Sam Hanson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Hanson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Capone is looking to clinch but Hanson is avoiding it.

Hanson drives through and clinches with Capone against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Capone jumps guard but Hanson stands there with Capone around his waist. Capone gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hanson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Capone has his takedown stuffed

and Hanson moves into the clinch.

Hanson gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Hanson stands and steps away. Capone gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Capone throws a right hand that Hanson ducks under and follows up with a left that Hanson also avoids with ease.
Hanson tries to clinch but Capone is having none of it.
Capone doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Hanson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Al Capone. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hanson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Capone's guard.
Capone bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hanson's guard.
Hanson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hanson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Capone!

Capone throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Capone throws a head kick that misses.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Capone wants to sweep but no luck.
Capone trying to control the position.

Hanson stands up and waves to Capone to follow him.

and Hanson counters with a takedown into side control.

Hanson decides to stand back up. Hanson steps back and let's Capone get back to his feet.

Capone decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hanson wants to get back to full guard.
Hanson is in trouble now - Capone has advanced to mount!
Capone looking to control and managing it successfully.
Hanson tries to hold on but Capone postures up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Capone misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Sam Hanson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hanson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
