The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira shoots for a double leg takedown but maxwell sprawls well. He's pushed Nogueira's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nogueira shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts maxwell as he jumps to the side.
Nogueira dives in and grabs maxwell's left leg, looking for a takedown. maxwell pushes down on Nogueira's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Atonio Rodrigo Nogueira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nogueira tries to score a power double leg takedown but maxwell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nogueira somewhat.
Nogueira really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Nogueira throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around maxwell's waist but maxwell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nogueira off to one side.

Nogueira fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. maxwell sprawls well initially but Nogueira persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
