Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Smithsonian with that takedown attempt.

Blatt rushes Smithsonian and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Blatt lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Blatt.

Blatt manages to break the clinch.
Blatt wants to clinch up but Smithsonian keeps it at a distance.

Blatt lands a left and a right that send Smithsonian crashing to the mat, dazed. Blatt thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Johnny Smithsonian has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Smithsonian scores with a takedown into Blatt's guard.

Blatt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smithsonian can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Smithsonian trying to control but Blatt is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blatt looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Smithsonian trying to control the position from guard on top but Blatt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smithsonian won't allow Blatt to sweep him here.
Smithsonian trying to stand up but can't free himself from Blatt's guard.

Smithsonian drops back looking for a leg! Blatt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Blatt manages to kick Smithsonian off! Smithsonian jumps back into Blatt's guard.
Smithsonian is breathing heavily.
Blatt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Smithsonian avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Smithsonian tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Blatt counters by clinching up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Blatt lands a left hand that snaps the head of Smithsonian backwards.
Smithsonian can't get the takedown.
Smithsonian has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Blatt avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Smithsonian. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Blatt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Blatt closes the distance and clinches.
Blatt lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Blatt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Blatt connects with a nice cross there... Smithsonian is looking wobbly and Blatt recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Smithsonian to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Blatt jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
