Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Itamar Colaiuta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Artemio Akana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Akana throws a series of punches but Colaiuta moves out of range.
Colaiuta is trying hard to land a takedown here. Akana sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Despite being in the dominant position, Artemio Akana just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Colaiuta takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Colaiuta dives in and grabs Akana's left leg, looking for a takedown. Akana pushes down on Colaiuta's head and hops out.

Akana lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Colaiuta circles away quickly and effectively.

Akana throws a left that rocks Colaiuta and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Akana dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Colaiuta regain composure!

Akana decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Oh Colaiuta is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Colaiuta on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Akana cracks Colaiuta with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Colaiuta tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Akana pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Colaiuta is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
