Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Pace! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lebron James! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pace feints and as James raises his hands in defense, Pace changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. James wants to sweep but no luck. Pace trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. James controls Pace momentarily but Pace frees himself. Pace trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pace is really struggling to control James but he's trying to hold on to the position. Pace trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pace postures up.
James is looking to stand up but Pace isn't so interested in that idea.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. James drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pace controls James momentarily but James frees himself. James is stalling in the full guard. James decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. James tries for a takedown but Pace circles away easily and Pace decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in James's guard. James utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pace is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James wants to get back to his feet but Pace is in a dominant position and won't allow it. James looks gassed! James keeping full guard, as Pace tries to pass. James is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Pace drops down looking for an ankle pick but James pulls his leg out and moves away.
James gets caught flat footed, as Pace shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pace sitting in guard here, content to control. Pace prevents James from getting back to his feet. James working a defensive guard here.
James is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Pace working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. James looking for a sweep. Not yet James, not yet. Pace is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. James is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. James with a poor takedown and Pace counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Pace is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. James holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Pace trying to control the pace. James tries to roll over but Pace keeps him under control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. James tries to kick Pace off but Pace keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Pace dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Pace shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in James's guard. Pace looking to control the position here, rather than advance. James pulls Pace in close to prevent any damage. Pace won't allow James to get back to his feet. Mark Pace overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. James pushes Pace off and scrambles back to his feet.
Pace looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. James tries for a takedown but Pace circles away easily and Pace counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. James wants to get back to his feet. James is trying to maintain the position but Pace is very close to passing his half guard. James is trying is best to control the position here. James is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pace's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pace's back! Pace is really stuck here.
Pace tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Pace is looking to improve his position but James isn't that keen on the idea. Pace wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. James trying to control momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Pace wants to escape the position.
James doesn't have the hooks in and Pace manages to turn into his guard.
Pace postures up and lands a big shot to James's brow. James not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pace controlling from the top position. Pace trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. James is pulling down on Pace's head. It's preventing any offense from Pace, at least for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pace controls the pace. Pace wants to control from the top but James keeps moving. James trying to control the position.
Pace passes easily into side control. Nice work. James is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Pace is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Pace prevents James from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. James wants to try and get back to his feet. James is working to get back to half guard.
James is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Pace has taken his back! What can James do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Pace scores with punches and elbows. Pace biding his time, looking for the opening.
James breaks Pace's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Pace dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
James doesn't succeed with the takedown and Pace counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Pace slows the pace down in half guard. Pace is looking for a kimura but James is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pace to get the leverage. Pace is trying to control the action in half guard but James is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. James trying to hold on to Pace's head to control him but Pace postures up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. James makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! James dodges the punch combination from Pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pace shoots in but no luck this time. Pace fails in his attempt to clinch. Excellent takedown into side control there by Pace. Pace takes a little break here. James wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. James tries to escape but Pace is in control. Pace cracks James with a big right hand but James just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Pace wants to lay and pray for a moment but James keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pace works to advance to full mount. James defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Pace controlling from the full mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mark Pace. Pace changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. James looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Pace advances to full mount. Pace tries for a kimura but James is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James is trying to buck Pace off. Pace controlling the position from side mount. Pace wants to lay and pray for a moment but James keeps working. Lebron James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! James manages to work his way to half guard, despite Pace's best efforts. Pace is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. James is not content to let Pace control the position. Pace works his foot free and advances to mount. James is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
James regains half guard. James pushes Pace off but Pace dives into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Mark Pace showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pace, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
