PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Count Orlok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herman Wiliam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Orlok shoots in and bounces Wiliam off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wiliam looking to control.
Orlok chips away with some ground and pound.

Orlok thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wiliam controls Orlok momentarily but Orlok frees himself.
Wiliam might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Orlok kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Wiliam is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Orlok is controlling him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Orlok has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Orlok wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wiliam, who protects the arm well.

Wiliam is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Wiliam is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Orlok's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Orlok is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wiliam is just riding it out for now. Orlok eventually gives up the hold.
Wiliam has hold of Orlok's hands but Orlok slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Orlok is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wiliam defends it well.

Orlok drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Orlok jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Wiliam had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Orlok is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wiliam Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Orlok's back instead.
Orlok rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Orlok pushes a forearm under Wiliam's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Wiliam is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
